I'll be in Indy this weekend. I've read lots of recommendations for lunch and dinner, but none for breakfast. I'm staying on s. capitol ave. The conference is at Conseco Fieldhouse. I'm hoping to walk to breakfast.

Maxines Chicken and Waffles at Ohio and East, behind the gas station. Great food, including breakfast.

Try Patachou on the Park, located downtown in the Simon Property Group Headquarters at the corner of Washington and Capitol. Pretty close to where you are. Everything I have had there has been great: homemade granola, breads, omeletts, One of Indy's best!

I would 2nd Bob's recommendation for Maxine's. I have eaten there and it was very good. Had the chicken and waffles....waffles crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Chicken was crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. Really good! My wife had a huge omelet and the prices are very reasonable. If you are there on a Sunday there is a tapas restaurant downtown (a few blocks east of the monument towards Conseco on Delaware I think) that has an AMAZING Sunday brunch!!!
