Broken shoulder now with pneumonia.

Sunday night Picky Peggy, PP, fell in the dining room of our house and broke her left arm/shoulder in multiple places. Actually the humerus at the top just below the ball and also the ball itself in multiple places. She was taken to Winchester, Va. ER and treated and stabilized. Monday morning she was transported to Inova Fairfax (near DC) because of 1 our HMO and 2 the orthopedic surgeon at Winchester recommended it because of the type of break. That and her other medical conditions.

Oh, God! A busted shoulder is absolutely no fun at all. I've been down that road. It's going to hurt for a while. I wish her the very best.

She wound up not having surgery. Her emphysema is so bad they decided the anesthesia could kill. So they will let it heal naturally and she'll go through physical therapy.

Mike , I tried to send you a Email but you do not receive them.  I have been in Salt Lake City for several days and I was aware of your situation but due to my travels, I was unable to respond.  I hope and understand that your wife is doing some better.  I understand family stress and I sincerely hope all is going well and will turn out well.

Oh, I am so sorry.. I hope she mends fast, and isnt in too much pain!---I know its rough..

Friday morning she woke up with pneuamonia. She now has that and sceptasimia. Because of her long time on-going medical problems she has a DNR order.

The Drs, are treating her with antibiotics and 100% oxygen with a bi-pap machine. No intubation, no cpr.

Oh Mike, you both are in my prayers.  Hang in there man.

Saturday she was more lucid but the latest x-ray didn't show any improvement from 24 hours earlier. Both x-rays were taken right at 1630 hours. So after 24 hours of heavy duty antibiotics there wasn't any change.

Oh, Mike, I hope everything comes together for her and she pulls through.  Prayers and good thoughts to her and you and all your loved ones.  You must feel the weight of the world on you right now.
