Brown Sugars BBQ in Houston Wed, 07/13/05 11:44 PM (permalink)
Brisket had that good smoky flavor, well trimmed, not too much fat. The sausage was course ground, not like Hillshires or the other no flavor or texture items but the beans were the best ever!! Not out of a can but cooked from scratch. Sauce was ok, a little too much vinegar but all & all, great.

I wasn’t sure if Brown Sugars was still in business or not. I used to eat at the one on Telephone south of Bellfort in the late 70s. I ate at the one on Greens quite a few times as well. Both had OK BBQ, but it was their sauce that I was crazy about. It was slightly sweet, and so mild you could drink it.

The one on Greens also had some pretty good peach cobbler, too. It was great served with a scoop of Blue Bell Home Meade Vanilla!
