Bucks Naked BBQ.. Freeport, Maine

I have been talking about this BBQ joint in Maine for a long time, and I see they finally have a web site.
So, being the true devotee of Bucks, I just had to post it for those of you in or around the area.

(An Italian hot dog with the peppers and onions is still what really gets ME going! And I've got to drive an hour to the nearest place for my "fix")

Is this "upscale BBQ"? That's quite a menu.
Do they actually smoke the meats, or does "smells like a wood fired smoker"
mean that have hickory scented Glade they spray occasionally?

Ok.... They do have a smoker...
I have looked inside of it.. It is in the open style kitchen.
You can see it from the tables..
He has his wood pile in the back of the building..
No liquid smoke there!

BBQ in Maine is surely an oxymoron, But..
WJ... You would love that place...

The dog is great!.. A bit unusual, but....

I have had the smoked sausage and it ROCKS>

They do not put any sauce on their meats.
Thats for you to do. They also make a blueberry sauce that rocks on the chicken salad.
One of my favorite things to get was the grilled veggie salad and add brisket and pulled pork on top of it. Semi Healthy.....

Not across from Bean.. It is way down the street from the Main Offices of LL Bean, which IS NOT in town. It is almost into North Yarmouth..
Bucks is before you actually get into Freeport proper and all that traffic. If you take the first exit for Freeport off 295.

Not upscale.... Small wooden building with family style seating and a 6 seat bar area. Actually kinda small....
Very casual....
They do music several nights a week, and you cant barely even get in there....

Thats funny.. I wish I could find some hickory scented glade...

I think that quote on their website means that because the smoker is in the building, you get the full nasal treatment.
Proper venting doesnt keep those wonderful smells from permeating the place....
