Buffet Potatoes: Great with BBQ

Buffet Potatoes: 2 lbs. frozen hash browns, 1/2 cup melted margarine, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 pt. sour cream, 10 oz. grated cheddar cheese, bread crumbs, touch of Texas BBQ rub

Thaw potatoes about 45 minutes before assembling. Combine potatoes in a 13X9X2 baking dish with butter, onion, soup, sour cream, and cheese. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Add a touch of Texas BBQ rub for flavor! Bake 1 hour at 350 (serves 8-10)

VERY GOOD side dish and tastes great with BBQ!

Darn good sounding recipe. Probably a heart attack supreme but still it sounds darn good. Frozen hash browns are a good ingredient for a lot of neat dishes.

Instead of bread crumbs try topping with crushed corn flakes mixed with melted butter. I make this dish when we cook Sunday mornings at our club and the people love it. You can make it up ahead of time then just throw it in the oven when your ready.

A little too processed and heavy for my tastes, but I am intrigued by the fact that all of these things are in the same recipe. How does one come to think of combining these?
