annpeeples Then I say we forget Pandls and meet at Benjis ....what say you all? We agree! Benji's on Oakland is the place for breakfast. I'll probably have a corned beef sandwich and a bowl of matzo ball soup for breakfast and Mrs. CSD will have the hoppel poppel. Mark & Nina

chicagostyledog Benji's opens at 7:00am. Would sometime between 9:00 & 10:00am work for you? Mark If ya'll don't meet up with BB until near 10 am, the true question is where will he have his PRE-breakfast meal(s)?

I really like the idea of Benji's, but my recollection of the place is that it is on the small side. Depending on how many we have, will there be enough room?

Susan, If you are passing through on May 23 there will be a large group of Roadfood people in my yard for my annual barbecue party. I'd be honored to have some experts from the South attend and provide their opinion of this Yankee's barbecue. Check in with Ann as time gets closer. I expect she will be here. Jim

Miss Ann and Miss Susan, if you're thinking about having a little RF gathering in May, I hope you'll see fit to include the likes of me. If you're not sure about whether you should, just ask BuddyRoadhouse; he'll tell you that I'm not too repugnant ( I hope. ) I'm going to be down in the Carolinas the first week of May ( Beacon, here I come! ), and I sure hope that won't mess up my chances of getting to meet you lovely ladies. Thanks for the heads up Jim. Sorry we missed you and Bobbi today at Polonez (and Annie, too). You missed some great grub as I'm sure you've read in that other thread. Buddy

Our favorite places to eat are Whistle Binkies and The Canadian Honker .. And , we always make a road trip to Slippery's in Wabasha for a burger ! At Mayo , I have a main coordinating physician , Dr. John Paat , who oversees the nine different specialists that I visit . Thank you for sharing !

My grandma has been a patient there since the late 60's, we both see Dr Torres. I like Victoria's downtown & then out by Hampton Inn was The Ranch. They are closed now. There is a pizza restaurant right next to that, Mr Pizza? That is very good. Next time I go up I'm gonna try Pannekoeken.

Stricken_Detective...Victoria's is good for Italian although can be pricey except at lunch time same thing as Michael's ... Lunch prices are much less... My hubby LOVES Mr.Pizza but we have mixed reviews of Pannekoeken...I think that a steak place is where the Ranch was ... We'll miss the Ranch and their inexpensive specials !

Port Washington. Are they related, and is the Oakland location the one that's being discussed? Not that it really matters, as it'd probably be at least 2 hours each way for me regardless. Brad

We are talking about the Benjis on Oakland. While I have frequented the one on Pt.Road, its much smaller and doesnt have the ambiance of the Oakland location. The food id just as good, though!

If you make it to the Lake Mills area be sure to have lunch at El Mariachi. The food is really good and the margaritas are the size of your head! Then afterwards head on over (walk if you like) to the corner of Lake and Church (203 W. Lake St) to this great little coffee shop located in an art gallery and ask Brenn to prepare you a Dirty Chai. She'll get a real kick out that. An added bonus being that it's really good! By the way, while you're in Lake Mills, could you pay my passed due parking violation? I had New York plates at the time and for some reason I'm pretty sure I'll be the only "New Yorker" on their most wanted list. El Mariachi— A new restaurant has been brought to Lake Mills by a veteran food service team. Mario Hernandez, along with his partners Zeferino Chavez and Carlos Solis, opened the Mexican food restaurant on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Mario, who is from Sun Prairie, managed a very successful operation in Madison and was looking for another location. When the spot in downtown became available, they saw a great opportunity. El Mariachi, which serves a full menu of Mexican delicacies, along with great margaritas and other beverages, is open for both lunch and dinner. But leave room for dessert—they are really something special! They also feature nightly specials, and check in for nights with live entertainment, including—you guessed it—mariachi bands. El Mariachi 102 E Madison St Lake Mills, Wi (920) 648 - 2985

What I do @ Victoria's is sit at the bar & get the caprese appetizer & this one time they had black raspberry creme brulee. omg. To die for. Did you go to the Pannekoeken downtown or the one out by the Hampton? Benji's is on Oakland & what?

Benji's is on Oakland 3 or 4 blocks north of Capitol Drive in Shorewood on the east side of the street. Sendiks, I believe, is on the west side maybe a block south. Did you go to Kopps after the Polonez meet up?
