Burbank's Real {?} BBQ, North Cincinnati, OH

Burbank's has been around for years. The quality has been up and down, but since I hadn't been there in years, I decided to try it again. I cannot say they are excellent, but it wasn't all bad.

The sauces. I must admit none thrilled me, so I mixed the hot & mild.

The fried green 'maters were very good, and the peach salsa on the side had a great kick!! The peach salsa was the best.

The pulled pork, with sweet potato casserole & greens.

Beef Brisket sandwich & mac and cheese & greens.

I still think the meat and sauce are just so-so, but the sides are excellent. I was not disappointed in any side dish.

For Cincinnati {not a real bbq town}, it's not all bad.

Some years ago they opened a Burbanks in Columbus, and it was really good -- for a while. (By the way, I loved the cornbread.) But before the year was out the place started going downhill and it closed not long after.

Yeah, the reason we decided to try it again was I had heard that since they have gone back to just the one original location, they were trying to get back to better quality food.

When they became a chain, a lot of the quality was lost.

I read in today's Columbus newspaper that Mongomery Inn is opening a place here.

I am so sorry for you, Michael

All but the original Burbank's places were franchises. And the quality was VERY up and down. The last three meals I had from them were at three different locations, years ago. I've worked in Springdale for almost seven years and have yet to go back to the original.

You feel sorry for me because they are going to open a Montgomery Inn in the Columbus area? I've been to the Montgomery Inn, and I have no plans to eat at a Montgomery Inn again.

You are a sage, my man.

Not only is the food lousy, you are treated like livestock. Herd 'em in, herd 'em out.

I have only been to the Original Location 1st time was with my family and the food wasnt bad however the place was filthy. I vowed never to return. Then a bunch of people met from work there and I had no choice but to return. Again the food was ok about a 7 out of 10 but the place was still dirty. If someone replies that is is cleaned up I might return. I think Gary Burbank retired from radio today. Very funny guy that I have spent 1000s of hours listening to while driving. He will be missed. Burbanks is not a filthy restaurant, the building is just old. I found it to be clean, just worn... food is great, service friendly and the music is a nice addition...

I ate at Burbank's a year ago and loved it. I haven't been there but once and can't comment on quality, etc. I just know I enjoyed my one visit there and loved Gar-ish on the radio.

When my BIL comes into town, he insists we go to Burbanks.

The Que is not bad, I have had better, the things i really like about Burbanks are the sides and soups

The Baked Potato Soup is really good, the Gumbo is REALLY REALLY GOOD!

The Roasted Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Gravy, Collard Greens, and the Macaroni and Cheese Casserole
    are AWESOME.

There is a newer BBQ place - Jim Dandy's - within a stone's throw of Burbanks - that is much, much better than Burbanks
