Burger King's New Double Cheeseburger Test Thu, 11/22/07 1:56 PM (permalink)
After market research revealed that Burger King takes in the smallest percentage from their "value menu" of any of the Big Three FF chains, BK has announced that they are rolling out a test of a new $1. double cheeseburger that will be bigger and better dressed than the McD's double CB. Calling the double CB the big gorilla of value menu competitive offerings, BK has said that they will test their new (and better than Mickey D's) version in 3 selected markets. The company says this will be a direct challenge to McD's dominance in the value menu segment and that they intend to support the effort w/ a full blitz of advertising and other marketing support in the 3 markets selected. Should be interesting!

And yet (for the past 30 years) they still continue to forget that Wendy's is in their way as well. Maybe people won't buy their value meals because they're not offering the proper gimmick. Many of their meals cost $7.00. McD's prices are reasonable (and their offer better portion sizes). Wendy's has a mix-match combo and 99 cent gimmick. Besides, I tried BK's cheeseburgers. They're worse than McD's in size and taste (and that's saying a lot because McD's tastes horribly). This is just my 2 cents though.

I have not eaten at a BK in many years. Just never really liked them. I prefer Wendy's

I must say the only thing I ever get in ANY FF chain place are the $.99 specials. I never even look at the rest of the menu, so I'll try this if it ever comes.
