Burger boys in NJ-ripped off 5 guys

There is a place in Fairview NJ that has ripped off 5 guys. Check out this site-offthebroiler.wordpress.com/2007/08/05/burger-battle-in-north-jersey. It is amazing how uncreative a guy could be. They could have opened this place and created a whole new look. The food sounded good(if it copied 5 guys it can't be bad)--I don't know if the place closed because they went with legal action from 5 guys-maybe somebody could tell me.--I just that that it was interesting.--so simalar

Come on...haven't you ever been to McDowell's? It's in Queens.  Your first sentence might also read "There WAS a place in Fairview..." The blog post you referred to is about five months old.

This topic of the Five Guys trade dress infringement was covered here on Roadfood in the second half of this thread from last summer: http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19910 At the time, some other news outlet reported that the owner of the Burger Boys tried to get a Five Guys franchise, but couldn't. So, the owner ripped off the concept. He should have consulted a lawyer before investing any money.
