American Flatbread, delicious pizza (umm I mean flatbread) and great beer. Look for special beer nights, with hand pulled casks, if you like that sort of thing. http://www.americanflatbread.com/ Sadie Katz Delicatessen http://sadiekatzdeli.com/ lovely dining car setting with lots of stainless steel, and friendly service and lovingly prepared food. Myer's Bagels, where I had my first taste of a montreal-style bagel--exactly the kind of chewy, seedy type of bagel I like, with a slightly sweet crust. Also nearby to Meyers Bagels is Fresh Market with some tables in the bakery area. Baked goods and prepared food, especially wonderful a smoked tuna spread made locally. http://www.freshmarketvt.com/ And those local cheeses! Leunigs's Bistro on the pedestrian mall wasn't really all that great an experience, with so so service and food. And the Vermont Brewery was downright awful. Penny Cluse is recommended especially if you can get in without a wait.
