Buying a new trailer soon....

Hey guys, I am going to be purchasing an enclosed trailer soon to begin my business....The size is going to be roughly 6x12 to 8x16 range I think.. I am in the process of calling around, and asking questions....It appears that I may have to drive up to 750 miles to get what I am looking for..... I was just wondering if anyone can think of some important questions I might want to ask when I am calling around.....thanks - any comments, suggestions, or ideas welcome...... Schmelly

I would ask if it is currently registered and inspected. If not, you might want to tell the seller that you require an up to date inspection. Al

Are you buying a new or used, finished or unfinished, equiped or empty? What kind of equipment will you have? Hard to know what you should be asking without knowing what you plan on doin inside of it.

Well we drove 6 hours from TN to NC....We had kept in contact with the lady the whole time....She knew were coming long distance....When we got there, and called she told us she rented it out, and that we wouldn't have liked it anyways.... So then I looked at another trailer from a different person....It was a 95' and a bit on the used side....He was asking 12k, I offered 8k which from my searching I felt like a fair price but he wouldn't go under 11k.... At this point we feel like we cannot find a fair deal or an honest ad , and we are tired of searching....Thus we have decided to buy a brand new empty cargo trailer which I am going to turn into a concession trailer.... I will begin a separate thread with pics to show the progress.

Yeah, I ran a similiar scenario when I went looking for a mobile kitchen as well as when I went looking for a sailboat. In both cases I found junk, or misleading ads. Wishing you good luck and success in your build. Starting with new is always a good path to take.
