CFS outside Dallas

Can anyone tell me the name of a restaurant I saw on the food network that was located just outside Dallas. The key things about it were that it only sold CFS and fried chicken (with sides) and the owner had some kind of truck that he drove around looking for some kind of made up creature. Thanks for the help.

Can't recall a place that meets that description.
You might try foodnetwork.com and see if you can find the episode you watched.

Only thing I can think of is Babe's Chicken Dinner House in Garland, which last time I visited had an old fire engine in front, all funked up. I think they have another location too. They serve family style.

Babes in Roanoke is the place . Great food but if you go call ahead they have wierd hours 817-491-2900

Babe's Chicken Dinner House. See the thread on it in the "chicken forum". We've eaten at both the Garland and Carrollton locations and enjoy it very much. The "newest" is Carrollton (in "Old Town Carrollton" - Beltline/Stemmons); same food, nicer ambience. Last time we went to Garland, the "fire truck" was parked outside; maybe they have more than one.

Try Mecca" on Harry Hines near the Stemmons for CFS.

Mecca is still my favorite, but it might be for the yeast rolls that I love so much.
I just had lunch at D Magazines No. 1 rated CFS emporium OZONA GRILL on Greenville between Yale and University. It was one damn fine CFS, only $6.95 at lunch, didn't overlap the plate but was big enough. Served with fries and a big salad, 50 cents extra for very good garlic mashed lumpy red potatoes. No yeast rolls, but Texas Toast on the side. Oh, and the onion rings might have been among the best I've ever had.
