Obviously I am for the SEC but I totally hate the offensive coach at BAMA.  I guess I am sorta for BAMA and I think they probably will win.  Two SEC coaches (one X) will meet.  That will be a very interesting game.

C'mon Paul. You hate Kiffin because he upped and left Rocky Top to take over USC without so much as a by your leave.
What he did was lousy, but he's one heck of an offensive coordinator. Had he not taken over at Alabama I wouldn't be as concerned as I am about their offense against Ohio State.

Michael you are correct.  Just because Kippen is very good is no reason to like him.  He absolutely wrecked the VOLS.  He walked out right in the middle of recruiting and took several players with him.  I guarantee he has no friends in Knoxville.  ZERO.  Folks in Knoxville cheered when he got canned from USC.

I'll bet they cheered all over Tennessee, not just Knoxville.

They Cheered all over the Trojan Nation too when he got the Tarmac Tomahawk!

Isn't Oregon generally weird anyway?  Or is that just Portland?

A couple of weeks ago the UW-Whitewater head coach (Lance Leipold), having led the team to 5 D-III titles in 7 years and possibly another one this year, accepted the job at the University of Buffalo.  If that hadn't happened he'd probably be on a lot of short lists for the suddenly vacant UW position.  Timing is everything!

I can't believe any intelligent person would defend Paterno. They things he overlooked were so bad, lasted so long, effected so many people, and they guy doing them was in the building and with the team until the day he was indicted.

At least I'm 'intelligent' enough to have the common sense not to join a mob.

Enjoy your certainty.

Ahhhh!  Is that how it works?  So if one thinks Paterno was wrong and had some knowledge and responsibility of what was going on, that person is characterized as just following a mob?  I guess that's an easy way to categorize and dismiss negative opinions on Paterno's actions.  Couldn't one just characterize the Pro-Paterno people as a mob as well?

Marcus wins the Heisman. At least he's not likely to be stealing crab legs.

You made me think of something!
The NFL should put a team in Hawaii, not London or Mexico City!

I remember the World Football League had a team in Hawaii during its run in the mid-Seventies.  Calvin Hill was their star player.

NFL expansion is an interesting topic, but I thought this was the "College" thread, not the "pros" ...

... but, as college coaches are now earning NFL money ...

So:  Los Angeles, London, Berlin, & Austin/ San Antonio.

Further:

  • Be sure to put London & Berlin in the same division (talk about your 'natural rivals'!!!)
  • Let Houston be the Oilers again and give the Texans name to Austin/S.A.
  • For Heaven's Sake, both the Raiders and the A's know the way to San Jose.  Take it!  Escape!
  • Three way trade:  Rams name to L.A., Cards back to St.L., and PHX takes 'Haboobs' and gets a draft choice.
For cultural reasons I just don't see any of the great Latin cities (Paris, Rome, Madrid, B.A., Rio, San Paulo, or Mexico City) supporting a successful NFL franchise.
