Experienced my first trip to Laurel Diner Sat morning: the blueberry pancakes were stellar: light, a crisp edge, fresh berries. THe hash browns accompanying were fantastic; crisp and light as well. Loved this place.
On the way home from PA on MOnday, we tried to go to Sycamore Drive in but they were closed. Further down the road Dr MIkes was open. Have been wanting to get here for years. I ordered a small hot fudge sundae with one scoop choc lace and one scoop rich chocolate ice cream. The employee had to put it in a large cup cuz it was so big, even for a small. the prices are very fair here, as well, for the quality. My kids got a small cone and could not even make a dent in it.
Anyway, the ice cream in my sundae was a 10; perfect in every way, taste and texture. The fudge was everything i had hoped and of course the fresh whipped cream makes it. I loved it.

    Hi beth,

I love The Laurel Diner. I have taken many photos that I have posted of the places I've visited.
But this photo of Pete behind the grill is one of my favorites.

Did you come all the way down here just for the places you mentioned? You were in the Roadfood culinary triangle.

That is a great picture, and I'm really intrigued by the chocolate lace ice cream, beth.

          BETH!
100% agreement on the chocolate lace ice cream at Dr Mike's. I was SO glad I went (and thanks again for the cell phone directions... RFers rock!)
