Cafe du Monde is reopening!

CNN reports the famous restaurant is reopening next week.

Lots of people going through withdrawals down there. This is really good news for NO.

Yay!!!! I have a package of their beignet mix sitting on my counter. I'm just waiting for the snow to fly to fry some up on a Sunday morning! When the owner of my restaurant went there before Katrina hit, I warned him, "Don't wear dark colored shorts.......you'll be sorry cuz you'll be coated in powdered sugar!" This is good news!

Very,very good news.

There was a picture in the SF Chronicle a couple of days ago of Cafe du Monde, obviously taken since the hurricane. I guess that's what it took to get all the powdered sugar off the floor!

In my mind I have seen the faces of the people we met in New Orleans just this past May. This is a very good sign indeed.

That is good news ! A serving of those wonderful powder sugar coated beignet's with a cup of excellent chicory cafe au lait !!! It doesn't get much better than that !!!
