Same here, Donald/CK, so sorry to hear that, but the blessing is that the pain is over. I hope you guys feel the comfort of that part of it.

(And to repeat what I said from the other forum . . sometimes the longer obit is nicer, feels like more of a celebration of the person.)

Part 4
Final Day in FL

I talked with my wife and she said to stay the day in FL, to see some of my friends from LA who have come over to Mexico Beach. I will head back to IN in the morning.

Today was a lazy day, resting & talking to friends & family.

For dinner we decided to go to Killer Seafood in Mexico Beach, FL. This place is my favorite place in MB.

Inside these doors waits some of the best seafood I have ever eaten.

As we walked in we were greeted by Michael and Kevin as we stepped to the counter and got ready to place our order. My eyes instantly went to a new menu item, CRABCAKES.

After a little deliberation, I ordered the crab cake platter, so did my father's wife, dad ordered the grilled fish tacos. The platters come with choice of 2 sides, we both got fries and killer puppies.





Here is Dad's Grilled Tuna fish tacos

The tacos were loaded with tender grilled tuna, Dad devoured them greedily.

This is the crab cake platter which Kim and I both had.

The crab cakes were awesome, light and full of crab meat, they had a wonderful flavor.
Michael brought out some extra horseradish to add into the cocktail sauce, man o man did that add an extra pop to the crab cakes. My nose is still running.


Everyone there was enjoying themselves and the great food.

For dessert we had the HOMEMADE Key Lime Pie.


This pie was dense and full of flavor, perfectly blendedsweet and tart.


I shredded my lime slice over the top of the pie for an added bite of tartness.

The dinner was great as always, I really look forward to getting in there at least once while I am n town. Tonight was no exception, dinner was fantastic.

The key lime pie (one of my fav. pies) looks so good. Wish I had some now. Sounds like some good food was had by all.

Looks like a cool place.......and I can't believe the prices! Really inexpensive.

The crab cakes and key lime pie both look awesome!

Ok now that things here have calmed down and we got the MIL's house cleared out (man was she a pack rat) I now have some time to post the final pix of my adventure south.

Thursday evening was the pre captains party, a bunch of us, gather at a friend house, fire up the smoker and grills and FEAST like kings.

This is Gman preparing our kabobs for the evening


The shank in Ham was already smoking, along with the corn and taters.




The ham was tender and juicy, it absolutely melted in your mouth.

I stuck my hand in a hollow stump, on my way down to FL, and found a wonderful quart jar of Kantuckee electric spring water, so we could all enjoy it during the pre capt's party.

I had the customary sip to show it would not make them blind, but knowing I had to head home in the morning i did not imbibe any further.

Needless to say, by 11pm Skeeter, our host was crashed half on his bed half off of it.

Friday Morning I headed out early. I have always passed this little donut shop, just over the bridge from Tyndall AFB in Parker, FL. I get there too late and they are always closed. They close when they run out of donuts usually by 10am.

I was in luck today.




it is an old fashioned place, donuts in the window, you point to the one you want and the lady boxes them up for you.

I picked out a bavarian creme and a long john, she picked them both up and filled them right then and there. they both were SO HEAVY with filling (about 12-14 oz each) WOW were they good.



The box has 3 sour cream, a chocolate cake chocolate frosted, bavarian creme, long john and the LONGEST CINNAMON TWIST I have ever seen or eaten it was 16 inches long.

It made the first part of my trip home very DEELISHUS!!
