California to Oregon AT NIGHT!!! HURRY

I am leaving for St Paul (20 miles south of Portland), OR at 6:00 tonight from Ventura ,CA. This means we will get there at about 8:00 AM tomorrow. We will be taking the 5 the whole way, but maybe the 99. I need to know of any good places to eat that are [red]OPEN 24 HOURS, or good breakfast spots in southern Oregon. [black]We will be coming back if the daytime, so non 24 hour reccomendations are cool too. Sorry it's last minute, but I just came accross this site. Thanks for all the help.

Make sure you stop in Coalinga at Harris Ranch either coming or going. Great beef. They have a few different restaurants---one should be open late.

At Corning California there are several Truck Stops at the Corning exit that are open 24 hours. Decent if heavy, food all night long and plenty of Caffeine available. It's about 120 miles north of Sacramento. The Olive Pit is there too but it is a daytime operation. Try it on the way back if the timing works. Great Smoked Olives. I have to comment about the Harris Ranch recommendations. It is a great place to eat....but if I were just 2 hours into a 14-16 hour ride I would not want to sit down to a major meal with the relaxed service and necessary time loss to enjoy a big meal. On the way back when you are within a couple of hours of home and you have had a full day on the road,Then I would consider it a good choice. Just my two cents worth!

If you see this for the return trip: Muchos Gracias, 7thst. in the old burger king in Grant's Pass,-Mexican Fast Food, or better, Wild Goose,-NW inspired diner food- right off the South Ashland exit 14, back towards town, open til 1:30 am. Tremendous soups.

You can always stop at Pea Soup Andersen's in Santa Nella. Santa Nella is the intersection of I-5 and higway 152, it is about 70 miles south of Stockton and just west of Los Banos. They make Pea Soup in kettles the size of hot tubs, and it is tasty.

The "Traveler's Special" adds a bottomless bowl of pea soup to sandwiches (maybe other entrees, too, don't recall now). Personally, I couldn't even finish a 1/2 sandwich with single bowl of soup. The soup is soooo filling. A great warm-you-up kind of dinner after a long, cold, windy travel day. Just the thing for filling up my bottomless pit teenage boys! This is our special travel-treat on our trips to Oregon since our former Pea Soup Anderen's in Carlsbad became TGI Friday's.
