Sure wish we had a Publix up here! They seem to have great sales on some very good cuts of meat.
Wish we had them out here too! They're the best Chain Supermarket in the USA IMHO. Great Bakery's also! Their Seeded Jewish Rye is to die for. I bring several loves home in my suitcase when I visit Nashville!

Now here's something to chew on..they have a standing rib roast on sale for $5.49 a pound on Publix. They have a bone-in rib eye for $6.99 a pound. Why wouldn't yoou get the bone in standing rib roast, ask the butcher to break the bone, cut them up yourselves for steaks and save $1.50 a pound?
SK Bob? Chef John? Am I missing something here? Yes, there may be some cap fat on the edge of the standing roast to trim, but not $1.50 a pound worth.

$5.49 per lb standing rib vs $6.99 for bone-in rib eyes...Have the butcher break the rib bones, slice it through and make your own steaks..Save $1.50 a lb.

As usual, top shelf SK.
I went by Ray's butcher shop on US-1 north of Ormond Beach today and noticed Prime Tri Tip at $6.99/lb on their reader board. Needless to say I did a U-turn.

Just got back to this one - That thing was history Monday night Bob. I'm going to post it in a minute. Baah Ben - Ray's used to be down here until Walgreens made them an offer they could not refuse. Hated to see them move way up there.
