Cambece likes floppy fries

Not like what it sounds like, I like my fries to bend and be cut shoe string style. I don’t know what it is, but I like the greasy fries and so does my girlfriend. People think we are weird for it and I think they are weird for liking crunchy burnt fries, but hey to each there own right. So does anyone else like floppy fries.

I especially hate it when you get the homemade/homecut potato chips and they are over cooked.

Not a big fan of mushy fries, but I like them a little crisp in the outside, but soft on the inside.

is there such a thing as al dente french fries?

I like my fries "blonde" (not brown), crispy on the outside, and very salty. Spices are fine too. It's the same way w/potato chips: don't like dark chips.

I too like the floppy fries. When I take my grandaughters out to eat we always pick through any fry orders and fight for the floppy ones. When I fry fries at home I alway slightly undercook them so they will be floppy. Certainly just a matter of personal taste.

I hate greasy fries.

I like mine firm and crisp on the outside (but not burnt), and tender on the inside. And I prefer the larger sized fries sometimes known as steakhouse fries.

I'm with you. I like shoestrings with a soft and only slightly crisp texture. Seems like McDonalds used to be more like that years ago. Crinkle cuts that are not overly crisp are good too. We just need to come up with a better name than "floppy."

I like mine crisp on the outside, soft on the inside... and LIGHT salt at that...
As for floppy greasy ones, power to ya! If everyone enjoyed the same thing, menus out there would be boring to say the least...

I really dont like the type of fries you describe. Glad someone does though, keep eating them up!

Fries are not either undercooked, or overcooked though. I dont like my fries burnt either. I do like them crisp while somewhat soft on the inside. I dont like thick fries though as I fell like I am eating fried mashed potatoes. Not necessarily a bad thing, i just dont like it.

I do love dark chips though. Cape Cod Dark Russets!

I confess that I, too, like soggy, greasy fries. But not very much. It's just that I don't care for potatoes very much. Or bread.

Floppy sounds good to me as that is what I have always called the soft fries that when you pick them up they flop over.

Floppish here too. If I want crisp fries I'll buy a can of potoato sticks.

You would like the White Castle fries then! I think they are a little to floppy for me......

This is an old post, but I had to reply. Back aroung 1968-1970 we had an old A&W stand by our house. There fries were exactly as Cambece describes. I like french fries every way except burnt, but I used to love those so much it remained a good memory from the age of 4 or 5.

New A&W places in malls do not have the same food.
