Candy Corn: Yea or Nay

It's that time of year. Any candy corn fans out there? I find them addictive, but I know a lot of people can't stand them. (Sorry if this has been posted before--I did a search but try searching for anything with "candy" in the name--lots of results)

I am an addict. I just had a handful, and I know I shouldn't. I bought two bags! I like the small pumpkins and other shapes, too.

I can handle one or two per year. Then I am done. Too sweet. My daughter loves them, tho.

I am in the same boat as susanll. I think they are ok but too sweet for my tastes. A few for me and I am done. My husband on the other hand LOVES them.

I third susanll, I overload with 1 or 2 in October only. How about the "chocolate", anyone prefer these over the original? I don't.

Yum, they're great and very addictive. I especially like the shapes, so that my molars can get an overdose of concentrated sweetness. My favorites are the maple flavored ones you find in assortments. Usually, they are the scarecrows, I think. I really don't like the chocolate, but I will eat them. Last, usually.

I don't like them at all. To me, they have no taste. Wax and sugar.

Possibly my least favorite Halloween candy as a kid and like them even less now. Right up there with those hideous marshmallow peanuts.

I was at a drug store yesterday and noticed "Caramel" Candy Corn"... has anyone tried these yet? I didn't buy them but probably will before the season ends.

Did not like them in any form -- corn, pumpkins, whatever -- as a kid. Tried them again for the first time in decades a couple of years ago (I think I had bought some to decorate cupcakes) and I find that now I like them!

Yea, but in small doses. The flavored ones are ok, and I like the shapes, but they are soo sweet. I prefer those peanut butter fudge chew things, the cheap-o candies that come wrapped in black or orange waxed paper, with the core of salty peanut butter. Disgusting. Love them!

I used to like them, but then ate so many of them at one sitting that they actually made me sick (well, I made me sick, they didn't just leap into my mouth )- After that, I can't even stand to look at them. Sue

I generally enjoy a few pieces of either candy corn or "harvest cremes" as the pumpkins, witches, and other pieces are called; HOWEVER, there is a disturbing trend of having HONEY in these candies, and to me, it completely ruins the taste. I guess the manufacturers figure if they stick "honey" on the wrapper, it looks somehow more wholesome than if it's just cane sugar and hfcs, but to me they just aren't the same with the honey in 'em.

I LOVE candy corn , and I'll buy it in the off season if I see it. I live in florida now so it's kind of hard to find except in the fall . I just bought candy corn flavored hershey kisses and they are great. They don't taste exactley like candy corn but are close. My mom, who doesn't like candy corn even liked them. Has anybody else tried them?

I bought the ultimate last Halloween: Candy Corn soda, made by Jones Soda Co. It was in the little 8 oz. cans, so I figured I'd give it a try without having to waste a whole 12 oz. can (if it was terrible). The first sip was interesting then VERY sweet, then disgustingly sweet. The color was neon yellow, as if it was radioactive! I only ever saw it for sale at Target, if anyone wants to pursue this.

I am a yea. I actually prefer the "honey" kind. Though, I can only eat so many at a time and then I tire of them. It's the same way with jelly beans. I really like them at their "special time" and then I have no problem waiting the year for them to come back! Doatsie

NAY.... I can eat a couple if they are the chocolate ones, but that's about it. Too sugary and not enough flavor.

Hello All, I don't love them, but must have them in the autumn, especially around Thanksgiving. I love the chocolate topped ones, like tooslimnc. It is a sweet tradition. Take Care, Fieldthistle
