Candy Help Needed

I'm part of a candy exchange. I don't want to send my person something they can just walk into a store and buy themselves. I have two questions. 1. What, if any candies are "native" to North Carolina? Or what candies originated in North Carolina? 2. What candies are not available, or difficult to find in the state of Washington? Thank you for your help.

Candy exchange, first time I heard of it but it sounds delicious. Maybe you can find some info at the Food network site. Look at "food finds".

Actually any candies found only in the Eastern US, or candies that can't be found or are hard to find in the Western US.
