If it's successful, why screw with it? I have a brick and mortar and a lot of times wish I had the simplicity of a cart, and the money I'd have if I wouldn't have had to alter the plumbing, electrical, floor, walls, ceiling, water heater and deal with utility deposits, rent deposits, electric, phone and gas bills. I could go on and on, but my eyes are welling up.

No. I'm a newbie exploring a cart. I was just interested in learning how many people in this business are growing it from a cart into a restaraunt. Congrats on your concession trailer.

So DJ how are you handling your fresh and waste water for your new venture?

IMHO, a trailer is the best way to go (warm in the winter, cool in the summer).. But then on the other hand, I can see 'the man' wondering how he can make his profit off it (taxs, fees, etc.).. Brick and Mortar, it's already a fixed deal.. Location, location, location not being a problem with a trailer or mobile kitchen, but you know someones going to want a slice of the pie..

THOUGH THIS ISNT A B&M IT IS AN UPWARD MOVE.
THE REASON FOR THE MOVE,,,,1ST..I WILL BE WARM AND DRY ALL DURING THE WINTER, AS I PLAN TO BE PRETTY MUCH YEAR ROUND,,,2ND IT IS A FULL LICENSED KITCHEN, SO I CAN EXPAND THE MENUE AND OFFER MORE SEASONAL FOODS.

WHY ARE YOU THINKING OF MOVING TO A B&M?

Woops, lost my post. Here goes... I love this topic! I have been searching & searching Google etc. for like information.

I am strongly considering starting a concession trailer outside a Walmart ( I hope) on a monthly rent.

I want to offer, mini donuts(morning) fried dough & funnel cakes.

I would truly like to hear from anyone who has any like expereince or advice.

Has anyone ever heard of "renting" a equipped trailer, to see how the venture would go, before the large investment/mistakes could be made?
                Thanks!

I don't think walmart will allow you to what your talking about doing.
