Celiac's Disease? Sun, 04/3/05 9:09 PM (permalink)
My mom was recently diagnosed with Celiac's disease. Apparently she cannot eat anything with wheat, barley, or rye in it. Has anyone else heard of this and do you have any really good recipes?

A friend of mine has it. It's one of those rare diseases that can go misdiagnosed for ages. My friend was rather sickly for years, and when she eventually found out she had Celiac disease and altered her eating accordingly there was a night-and-day difference in her health.

Next time I speak to her or her husband I'll ask about recipes and pass any relevant information along, although I'd imagine they got whatever they use from websites like the one already posted. Good luck. Oh, one thing: I'm told that Celiac resources are much more prevalent in Canada. My friends order gluten-free food from a company there.
