Bethgrd prodded me in providing some updates....

We're still just under 6 weeks away so updates will be provided as we get closer to the date...

We will meet for breakfast at 9AM
Modern Diner in Pawtucket
364 East Avenue Pawtucket RI

http://www.quahog.org/cuisine/index.php?id=78

There is usually a line to get in. However after Breakfast we can then head over to the Johnson and Wales Culinary Arts Museum
located at 315 Harborside Blvd in Providence (Right off Rt 1A on the Providence/Cranston Line
http://www.culinary.org/

There is a fee for the museum. I believe its $7.

After the Museum we can go to Angelo's Civita Farnese for Lunch. Located in Federal Hill (Providence's Little Italy)

They're located at 141 Atwells Avenue Providence

http://angelosonthehill.com/

After lunch for those who are still Hungry we will be going for Rhode Island Style Hot Weiners, Coffee Milk, and Pizza Strips. Locations to be named at a later date, but will likely be in the Cranston area.

You're only going to get hungrier with the new updates I'm providing.

NEW UPDATES!!!
After lunch at Angelo's we can walk off the calories around Federal Hill and check out the local Italian bakeries and delis. Getting orders to go are certainly encouraged.

Our next stop will be Palmieris Bakery

http://www.quahog.org/cuisine/index.php?id=214
located at Depasquale Plaza right in Federal Hill for Bakery Pizza aka Pizza Strips.
These local specialties are served at room temperature so for those who want to save their appetite getting them boxed to go is encouraged..
Although there will be several opportunities to purchase italian pastries at other Bakeries, unfortunately their just not Palmieri's forte.
[link=http://www.quahog.org/cuisine/index.php?id=214</a></font></font>]http://www.quahog.org/cui.../font></font>
although the link is for the Ridge avenue location we will be
going to Palmieri's at DePasquale Plaza Providence right off
Atwells Avenue in Federal Hill

Our last stop will be for Hot Weiners and Coffee Milk at
Wein-O-Rama
[link=http://www.roadfood.com/Restaurant/Reviews/6389/weinorama]http://www.roadfood.com/R...Reviews/6389/weinorama[/link]

located at
1009 Oaklawn Avenue Cranston

in a few weeks we'll start a head count.

I get to meet MiamiDon in person?  Count me in!  Unfortunately, Amy cannot attend due to a work commitment, but I have volunteered to bring her pizza strips...  Chris

Don,

if that's the case, then you should get there with plenty of time to spare. I don't anticipate that you would hit any traffic that early on  a Saturday morning. If there are no unexpected hold ups, then it shouldn't take more than 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to our first stop at the Modern Diner.

I just want to have an idea of what we will be doing.

Thanks.

I met you last year Dale when I went with  Beth and can't wait to go tomorrow with my friend Robert from Florida.  I've always wanted to try Twin Oaks in Cranston - what's that like?  The Cupcakerie too - thoughts?  Maybe I'll hit those when we're done - the more the  merrier though!  Thanks for planning!  Karilyn

Karilyn,
Of course I remember you. At the Western Mass meet n greet led by Wheregreggeats

I didn't know you were a roadfood  member, if I knew you were, I wouldn't have referred to you as "and friend" on the head count!

Twin Oaks is classic"stereotypical" RI. It was listed in a couple of the roadfood books years before  roadfood turned into the "diners drive ins and dives" format that it became postwebsite but Twin Oaks is still "roadfood" to me (and to the Sterns at least in one point during the roadfood phase). If you do go, get there early, there will be a line regardless of what time you go and the earlier the better.  I recommend either the veal parm or the stuffed shrimp. Those are my personal favorites... Keep in mind it's been about 8 years since I was last there, but I doubt its changed..
Unfortunately, I can't comment about The Cupcakerie as I don't know much about it. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Don,

It all depends on how big the line is at Modern Diner
It's same to assume if there are any holdups tomorrow it will be there...
It also depends on how much time everyone wants to spend in Federal Hill
I'm "guesstimating" we'll get to Wein-O-Rama sometime in the mid afternoon
