Cereal Fri, 12/17/10 2:33 AM (permalink)
I happen to LOVE rice krispies and FROOT LOOPS like crazy!!

For many years now whenever i have gotton either FROM A REGULAR SUPER MARKET,the quality is disgusting!

No flavour and also damaged product sometimes.. (Froot loop rings have gashs in them, etc)

Now if i spend a little MORE MONEY at a convienence store,THE QUALITY IS 1000% BETTER!

I bought Rice Krispies the last 2 weeks AND THEN FROOT LOOPS at this gas station for 5.49 AND THE FROOT LOOPS WERE OUTSTANDING!!!!!! (Mucho flavour, good quality rings, etc)

Tonight i got FROOT LOOPS (8.7oz again) from another gas station, the price was lower: 2.50 and ya know what?? NOT AS MUCH FLAVOUR IN THOSE!! (Slightly less flavourfull)

I cant think of any other reason for this than the natural laws of the universe: YOU PAY MORE,YOU GET MORE... In other words you pay a higher price,YOU GET BETTER FLAVOUR/QUALITY.....

My parents think im crazy for paying $5 for cereal BUT I KNOW WHAT IM TASTING!!! (I think the higher price IS WORTH IT FOR BETTER QUALITY!! -- I ALMOST FINISHED THE BOX IN ONE SITTING!!)

I got some RICE KRISPIES from a main store a couple weeks ago AND THE RICE WAS FLAVOURLESS!! (It was not pleasant to eat) When i got them for 5.49 @ the service station,THEY WERE DELICIOUS!! (I ate the whole box that night

Anyone else notice this with cereal?? (I cant be the only one with taste buds)

There is no way in my lifetime that I would ever be able to tell the difference in taste. If their stale, then thats another matter.

You must have some top notch taste buds.

I don't eat either of those cereals, so I can't help you.  And I would never buy cereal from a convenience store...their stock doesn't turn over nearly fast enough to ensure quality for me as a rule.  But I especially would not pay more than three bucks for a box of cereal...I always wait until it goes on sale.   Of the cereals I do eat, I like the quality and taste just fine from the grocery store, but since I've never considered buying from a convenience store I guess I have no basis of comparison between the two.

Also...why did you yell so much?

If it's the same brand, I can't possibly believe that there is any difference in taste. If you are buying generic or store brand in one place, well, that's different.
