Change in Roadfood?

Has anyone noticed that one can no longer see what members are active on Roadfood topics and number of guests are no longer shown? I wonder what the reason is?

Greymo, that would be true. Stephen Rushmore did that so the servers would work more efficiently. He also indicated that the feature would probably not return. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I think the decision was sound. While the feature may have been fun and harmless when the Roadfood site began, we are now dealing with an entirely different web. When I first encountered this site, my eyes bulged out at the transparency of both the site and it's users. While this makes the site both charming and delightful to the common user it could also be a delightful hacker's paradise with the amount of private information people post on the site. I look at the change as closing a security gap as well as a bandwidth saver. A good move all around and a responsible one.

I'll miss it as well. I used it to make contact with some members I "knew." Nevertheless, Greyghost (who stole my old CB handle! ) is right: "A good move all around and a responsible one."

It was a nice feature. Intresting to see who all the lurkers are in the middle of the night.. But change is normally good, especially if it will improve the sites performance. (Remember all the hoopla when they re-did the site a year or so ago? We all survived).

Rick F, Don't make me fire up my CB's again! I have about a dozen (doesn't everyone)? I will fight you on channel 19, I will fight you on all the Superstar extras, I will fight you with a vintage President Zachary T, I will fight you with an amazing ground plane that makes an Antron whimper. I will fight you with a select pit of Cobras, If need be I will fight you with "heaters" from hell. Of course, I am kidding, but I thought you might like all the CB references. Actually, I don't think you need to change, I use the English spelling. Greyghost, why don't you use the American spelling, Grayghost? It hardly matters anyway, because most people on the CB refer to me as GG, anyway.

Mr GG, as a computer knowledge maven, I make a great fireman. Can you explain how showing who's on the site is a security risk? Signed, Clueless Captain in Fontana
