All of our Checkers closed up a couple of years ago but while they were open I didn't think they were all that. Just OK IMO

we don't have checkers but we have Rally's which is the same company..the burgers are all dissappointing (with the exception of the cheeseburger in the kids meal for some odd reason)..the seasoned fries are good..the breakfast combos are a good bargain at just 3 dollars for hashbrowns, coffee/juice/or soda, and a big breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich..

Some of the best here. They grill and prepare their burgers fresh on the spot and their fries are to die for (pun intended).

Down is this part of the world, we have quite a few Checkers. They are very heavily concentrated up and down the west coast of Florida. Checkers has a quarter-pound burger called the Champ Burger and of course the Champ Burger w/ cheese. IMHO, it is way above average for a fast food burger!!! It comes w/ everything, California style (lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, mayo, ketchup), and is very reasonably priced. So for those of you RF-ers who are willing to give chains the occasional benefit of the doubt, you might want to give it a try. Virtually all are double-drive thru style and their service is very friendly and prompt. QFan Bonita Springs, FL

I used to. My son worked at a Chick-Fil-A for two years while in school. He heard horror stories from someone that serviced their cooking equipment. That person also serviced the local Checkers and had issues with their cleanliness. Since it's third hand, I won't pass on the stories. But I haven't been in a Checkers in about three or four years now, and will never visit one again. (I'm sure there are horror stories about every FF place, so I'll continue to live in blissful ignorance where possible. Don't dis-illusion me on Chick-Fil-A!)

QFan Bonita Springs, FL No Checkers here is my part of CA (Sacramento) but what a fine burger when I was recently back "East". EEWWWWW,no sweet tea for me. LOL. That sugar is just too much to waste on some great cool iced tea. Well, they (Checkers) are a close second for our "In and Out Burger", which has to be best, if not better than any home-made burger on the grill. IMHO! Glad our nearest "In and Out", is the closest FF burger place. I also look forward to my next Checkers, when I get back in that direction. Enjoy!!!

Milwaukee has two Checkers, both in the "black" sections of town. I'm kicking myself for driving by these places for a decade before trying their fare. The fries are the best of all the fast food chains-- McD, BK, W. The hamburgers are below W in quality but far above McD. And I like the variety and prices of their burgers. Banana shakes! YUM!

Last time I went there, my friend managed to order $20 worth of food. Unbelieveable. I like the big bufords and what I think are called the "rally fries"

I don't get your "black section of town" and "kicking myself for going" bit. I'm just curious because I live in the largest AA city in the country and every place is run by AA. Is something wrong with going to these places? I've always wondered that.
