Cheddarwurst Coney at Skyline

Skyline Chili has a new promotion this summer that I tried last night and thought was really good. It is a Hillshire Farms Cheddarwurst coney. They are selling them 2 for $4.99 and since they are much bigger than the regular size coneys there, that is plenty for a quick meal. I got fries with them but most of them were left as I was full from the coneys. I like the idea of having cheese both inside the sausage and piled high on top of it. It will only be around until the end of August.

You know, I stopped at a Skyline the othr evening to get a large four-way to go and I saw the notation on the drive-though menu about a Cheddarwurst coney and didn't realize what it was. Next time I'll try a couple.

I really enjoy the Beef HotLink version of the Hillshire Farms Sausages (take note Cheesewit) The cheese filled sausage is good also, but it tends to drip big-time when you nuke it !! I will try the Skyline version this weekend.

The whole idea of a sausage (supposedly smoked) containing cheese is repellent to me -- it could be from my Oscar Mayer's days as a kid. I've always thought most of the Hillshire Farms sausages too sweet as well. A GOOD smoked sausage (maybe a Hummel's Red Hot), with cheese, Skyline chili and onions would be awesome.
