Anyone ever eaten at a Cheeburger Cheeburger? They have pretty good burgers. They are on the east coast mostly in the south.

Eaten at one in Florida and one here in Baltimore area. The toppings sound great so you load up your burger, and then it becomes just a big mess. Fries and onion rings are fresh cut and very good.

Actually the bit started"No Coke..Pepsi"...but they then had a 'episode' where a Coke guy came in and sold the 'dumb son' on selling Coke, giving signs and stuff..the father coming back and yelling at him until he sees the stuff...and realizing his son made a good business decision...THEN proudly correcting a customer"No Pepsi..Coke."

Dearfolk, No fries. Cheeps. Hah. No like fries. Get soggy. Cheeps no get soggy. Zankfully, Ort. "Dreadful Fake Greek Accent" Carlton in Athens, Georgia. P. S. Athens is Greek in name only. Alas. (Although we DO have a Greek Orthodox Church here now; previously those poor deprived communicants were forced either to attend Episcopal Church services or else drive to Atlanta to the Cathedral.)

This place looks a lot like "Fudruckers" a "Do it yourself" Hamburger chain out here in California?

I'm going to go for the Wall of Fame and eat the 20 oz.'er, now that I found one in my area. Looks good on the web site. Actually, I need to post a few more so I can become a full-fledged Hamburger!

Hey guys although I am sure Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger is a great resturant the source of the skit used in Saturday Night Live is actually a resturant in Chicago named Billy Goats. This is primarily because most of the comedians on SNL at that time were from Chicago and a guy who works there says (I have witnessed it myself) Cheezborger, Cheezborger, cheeps no fries, coke no pepsi. Its a good place and I´ll try to get an address up at another time

Cheeburger Cheeburger is one of the best I've ever had. I know it's a chain, but it's an amusing novelty when you drive down from MI. I have a similar affinity for Waffle House, probably because I just can't get it here in MI. In any proper discussion of hamburgers, I find it necessary to distinguish between ultra-cheap sliders and "real" burgers. As far as the latter goes, I've rarely had any tastier than Cheeburger Cheeburger. The toppings are great, and the burgers run from big to huge. I haven't been to one in about ten years, though...hopefully my memories serve me well. P.j.

Ah...now that I see the website, I understand. I used to get them in FL in the early 90s. I never knew it was such a big chain...probably because it wasn't back then. Learning something new every day, P.j.

Man, Cheeburger Cheeburger is the greatest place ever. Period. My first experience with one happened just months ago, in Naples, FL. I was hesitant, but we tried it out, and I was hooked instantly. I ate at least one meal there EVERY day while on vacation. The staff began to know us by name, and from then on it was heaven. Time came for us to fly back home:( I ate there minutes before leaving on my flight, and I got some to take with me on my journey home. I miss that place like hell now. We always accomplanied our food with the basket of frings. *sigh* Next time we're in FL, that will be the very first place I go. It is messy to eat, but damn who cares, it's so delish. Unlike no other.

He and others have tried to reverse it serveral times over the years, but as you can see it's still there.

Chicago news this a.m. says that the Billy Goat Tavern people are filing a federal lawsuit against the Cheeburger Cheeburger chain for trademark infringement. Even though the chain has been in operation in the south eastern U.S., they had announced opening a store in the Chicago suburbs recently.

The Billy Goat Tavern "cheeseborger, cheeseborger" is a Chicago landmark. The lawsuit surfaced when Cheeseburger Cheeseburger Restaurants, Inc. decided to enter the Billy Goat's back yard by opening a restaurant in Glenview, a northern suburb of Chicago.

Fuddruckers have been around since the mid 70's. They went down hill but something has given then new life. They are opening several new sites. One of then is in Pigeon Forge, TN. They are opening a new large facility. I will let you know how it does. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Had my very first Cheeburger in Sanibel Island, FL at the recommendation of a coworker, while on vacation. Pure heaven!!!! Also loved the seemingly endless variety of milkshakes....I had pistachio, hubby had a black raspberry and son had orange pineapple. Wish this chain were to locate in Connecticut!

If you ever travel through Chicago switching planes at Ohare, there is a Billy Goat Tavern in the Jazz Food Court on either Gate B or C (forgot which, but it's right near the escalator which brings you up from the people mover between gates). You can get a cheeborger, but they also have excellent Chicago Beef sandwiches. Last trip, I got one to go and ate on the plane. Lots of dirty looks from others as I had real food and all they got was pretzels.

I did the Cheeburger thing A few weeks ago in Towson/Baltimore. I thought good not great. I still prefer a good chargrilled 1/2 pound Bar burger. In baltimore Dudas in Fells Point is one of the best.

Lots of dirty looks from others as I had real food and all they got was pretzels. Heh heh. Don't you just love doing that? A year or so ago, we took a family trip to Avalon, NJ. When I say family, I mean everybody. My folks, my brother, his wife and son, my kids and wife, the whole shooting match. Anyway, we get on the plane, and I'd made cinnamon rolls that morning and I oped the containor, and they were still warm, and the whole cabin was just filled with that yeasty, cinnamon flavor. The flight waitresses were not to thrilled with us. I did offer to share, but they said they couldn't eat on duty. The passengers weren't happy either, since I don't think they even gave out pretzels. Calvin Trillin wrote a great peice about flying "no frills" back in the day, I think it's in "Alice, let's eat". Um, clothier, I think nowadays they like to be called "flight attendants" seeing as how many of them are men.

Or do they just stand by perkilly smiling telling you to "inflate your life vest after exiting the aircraft"? (Right before kissing your a** goodbye) Well, maybe you're right, they're all waitresses.

I thought it only appropriate that the post on which I became a cheeseburger (this very post) be in a thread about cheeseburgers. Woo me! *pats self on back* and now back to your regularly scheduled pursuit of exceptional unique regional food experiences.....
