Stricken Detective, you are NOT the only person in the world who doesn't like cheesecake! I don't care for it, either. Maybe this is why the Cheesecake Factory was such a "meh" experience for me. Cheesecake would probably taste really good if it weren't for that pesky cheese in it!

I went once and I was not impressed. Why the enormous menu? I went there to eat some grub, not read a copy of Moby Dick. Are they bringing in Tolstoy to work on the character development of the pecan-encrusted salmon? Seems like glorified frozen dinners unless someone here can tell me a money combination to order (a meal plus what kind of cheesecake)

I had lunch at the new Cheesecake Factory at Ross Park Mall in the North Hills of Pittsburgh on Sunday. Between two of us, our lunch was over $90.00, including tip. And even though I have yet to find an entree I am truly happy with, I think their food is fine. But, that is just way too much money.

Cheesecake Factory is quite an impressive chain. I took a friend of mine there, who is the avowed NYC food snob and even she was impressed with the quality, quantity and pricing of the food. I love their roadside sliders. However, their mixed drinks can be hit or miss and I wish they offered half-portion entree sizes for all their dishes instead of a selected few. I don't always want to take a doggie bag home.

Stopped by one up in Albany near Macy's. A huge place, looked nice but when they handed me a pager I sat for about two minutes and decided to leave. LOL. Went to a place called 99 instead, great burgers!

Menlo Park Mall in NJ imho was ruined by CF. Kills any chances of finding a parking spot there on a Fri. or Sat. If I want a varied menu I'll go to a diner.

The one thing at Cheesecake Factory I have really enjoyed is the avocado eggrolls. I have never seen this on a menu anywhere else.

I don't normally like chains either. I can eat at one if everyone else wants to but it isn't my first choice. However I do love cheesecake factory. My tips would be to go at 4 or 4:30 if possible on a weekday. I got off work at 3:30 and would go after work. I suggest going then for a couple of reasons. One the lines are shorter or non exisitent. (i lived in vegas where the lines were BIG normally) Also some items can be ordered at a lunch sized and priced portion. My favorite dish is the Pasta Da Vinci it is sooo great. My friend and I would order a lunch size and split it and each order a salad. Even if we got cheesecake our bill was not to bad. The places they get you are the drinks and appetizers. If you skip those you will be fine!

Ate at one in Atlanta & really enjoyed it. Have been trying to get to another one ever since. Was with a group of about 10 & all ordered something different. Everyone bragged & seemed to be pleased with his/her dish. Got my cheesecake to go since the entree was so large. Ate a sample bite when we got back to our hotel & had finished it off before I knew it. It was divine!!

I really enjoy our local Cheesecake Factory, the prices you pay for these huge entrees is very good. We like to get the girls together for a girls night out and all order something different from the menu and pass it around. We are usually too full for the cheesecake, but the fresh banana cream cheesecake is very light and tasty.
