This is normally a trip with one overnight, are you planning on a more leisurely drive. Any idea how you'll break things up?

Stuart's Fresh Catch ... in Raleigh ... worth the detour.
Brickyard in Daytona for grilled wings and a burger.

    Check the RF maps.

My standard recommendation: Jinright's seafood house in Yulee, FL, just north of Jacksonville. Minimal decor, outstanding fried seafood & hushpuppies. Also gator.

I'm surprised Sundancer hasn't made his standart Dixie Crossroads suggestion.

That's funny. I am kind of surprised that he hasn't made his standard GA Pig comments.

Back in Sept. I stayed in Gaithersburg Md. just outside D.C. at the Summerfield suites by Wndham very enjoyable, easy acess to the Metro and some good dining choices near by. For grocery stores be sure to stop at one of the Wegmans in northern Va. you won't be dissapointed. Also might want to consider stopping in Philly for a visit to the Redding Terminal Market. Good luck and enjoy N.Y. Chow jim
