Chester, VT - The Country Girl Diner

Along Rt. 103 we pulled into The Country Girl Diner. Very nostalgic and appropriate looking dining car. We arrived at 10:45am. No wait, we were seated right away at a table, not the stools. We both ordered The Vermonter - 2 eggs, 2 sausage or 2 strips of bacon, 2 pieces of toast and home fries. My wife had her eggs over medium and mine were poached. I had rye toast, my wife had white toast. Great food. The coffee was excellent and so was the hot tea. We went on a Sunday. The specials that day were maple flavored Belgian waffles and regular waffles with local strawberries and whipped cream. Nothing on the breakfast menu was over $7.99. Our orders were $5.99 each. Highly recommended and a renowned favorite in the area with the locals and tourists.
