Does anyone know why Sizzler moved out of state and Ponderosa left the inner city?

I don't know for a fact, but usually when chains leave somewhere it's because they aren't doing very good business and aren't making a profit. All of the Ponderosas in Michigan that were in major cities closed as well. Sizzler isn't open anywhere in the midwest any more, according to their location map. Mostly West Coast with a few scattered locations in the South and New York and New Jersey.

There is still a Ponderosa in Aurora Illinois. Haven't been to it in over 10 years but I know people who still go there.

Both Ponderosa and Sizzler are alive and well with multiple locations in Orlando. They both offer huge breakfast buffets for $3.99 and you can imagine are packed for breakfast with Mickey tourists. At night Ponderosa offers both ala carte steaks and their "international" buffet. Again, it is filling and priced right...
