Chicago Road Food Tour

Just wanted to give a shout out to the wonderful Road Food team:) Todd and I had such a wonderful time as it was more than what we anticipated. The food, the people, the whole experience was wonderful. The greatest part of the day was finally meeting and seeing the faces behind this wonderful sight. Thank for a great tour, and it was a pleasure to have met so many great people! We are hoping to buy the book now so we can win prizes on the bus next time:) Maybe we can bribe Michael to autograph it! The most fun part of the day was all of the bantor and comments on the bus. I am still trying to get my voice back since Todd and I could not stop talking about it all night. We drove back to Menomonee Falls wishing we were still on the bus! We stopped at a little country bar and had a cocktail wearing our hats proudly. I am now thinking how much I can get on Ebay for Jane's half eaten popcorn, but she didn't sign it so not sure:) (Wink Wink) Kidding:) So in closing thank you again and keep us posted for the next tour, we will hopeully plan it in with a vacation! Sincerely, Michelle and Todd Wiedemann

I'd also like to add my thanks to the Road Food Team. Due to illness, my roomate (a devoted Good Food/ Road Food follower} was unable to attend. However due to the thanks of Michael and Jane ,they autographed their new book for her. And she was estactic. Also thanks to Stephen and Mark for the roadie caps which helped ease the pain Living in Chicago I have visited the stops on the tour but am sorry I didn't get more of an opportunity to talk to more of you folk. Hope all of you had a great time and Good Eating to all. Thanks Bob Nueske

Is that it?!? Only one reply? Where are all you people who were fortunate enough to be on this adventure? Those of us who were otherwise engaged want details! How was the food? Any photos? How did these places handle the sudden influx of Roadfoodies? How were you able to eat all that dang food in less than twelve hours? Did you manage to get it all in? Was everyone on the bus or was there a convoy of cars following you around? Let's hear about it folks; the silence is deafening!

Buddy, you missed a great time. We went to Chicago from Brighton, MI (outside Detroit/Ann Arbor) to be a part of it. We've been fans of the Sterns for 27 years (we counted). The first thing we did was share. Splitting a corned beef sandwich at Manny's started the ball rolling. Then while cruising the streets of Chicago in a bus we all had a chance to digest on the way to the next dining establishment. Manny's was excellent! Max's Italian beef was also very good, especially the "sauce", don't know what was in it, but it gave the beef a nice spice to it. Byron's was a hot dog, not our favorite. Weiner Circle was excellent! I think anything they did that was "char" would be great. Everywhere seemed to handle the crowd with no fuss. They knew we were coming, so there was probably some preparation. If at all possible, try to make the next one, but in the meantime, keep eating and searching for more Roadfood.
