Chicken Fried Bacon Video

I'm not sure about CFB, but the steaks and onion rings look great!

Looks good. We already do this down in my area. The only difference is that the bacon is usually 1/4th inch thick (and no gravy). Thinner bacon seems much better idea.

Sounds dangerous, but I'd like to try it anyways!

That has to be the unhealthiest looking commercial I have ever seen. Even the people, especially the owner looked on the verge of cardiac arrest. Between the added salt and the cigarette smoke, wow! I guess I would try it though.

Whats the sense of living a long, HEALTHY life if you cant enjoy yourself along the way, talk about heaven.. a 2lb steak medium rare, a mountain of onion rings and a side of chickenfried bacon with gravy... how can you compare that to a salad? or one of those foo-foo dinner bites at a trendy nose in the air?

I have eaten there before when I go to get sausage at Slovaceks, its right next door. I Don't remember seeing that on the menu. The big sirloin you saw I've eaten there before, it was 23.00, not to bad.

I think it was funny that every single person in they featured in the video was overweight and very unhealthy looking. And that owner makes John Goodman look like Lance Armstrong (have you seen Goodman lately? Yikes!). I'm sure the producer of the video was making a (not too subtle) point, and there must be a few thin people at that establishment, but it was humorous nonetheless. My favorite line was "your own body can tell what's good for ya"- followed by a shot of a cigarette ad printed ON the menu! I also got a kick out of the woman dumping salt all over the fried bacon. Ain't that America!

I guess there isn't a huge difference between chicken-fried bacon and blue cheese dipped Buffalo wings (which is a big weakness of mine) in terms of unhealthfulness, but I don't think I could bring myself to eat battered fried pork fat with gravy. It looked positively disgusting to me.

About 17 mi. northeast of Dime Box. Has to have a population of 5 or 6 hundred. Not too many joggers out of that bunch.

Exactly it is between Sommerville Hwy36, and College Station Hwy6 on FM60. Sommerville is where Country Inn Restaurant is, best steaks this part of the state.

Yeap, it's right off Hwy 36 just south of Somerville. There are some really nice campgrounds, 3 run by the Army Corp. of Engineers and one by Texas Parks and Wildlife. We used to camp there a lot thats how I found all these restaurants. I was always elected to drive up early on Fri. and set up camp. That left me with most of the day to wander around looking for lunch.
