The weather's just about right for a nice bowl of mull.  Think I'll head by Bill's Bar-B-Q in Hull sometime in the next few weeks for some.  Mmmmm.

    I made this last night.

Blandest thing I've eaten since oatmeal.  I put a ton of spices into it and doused it thoroughly with hot sauce.  Even then, it was bland.

It didn't look good, either.  I mean, it looked already eaten.

Seemed to me like a trailer park version of the chicken a la king they used to give us in grade school.

And it makes more than a gallon, which means my fridge is full of this stuff and I have no idea how to make it better.  I've seen all kinds of variants online and I'd be more inclined to try them first.  I'm sure somebody out there loves this but it's just not for me.

From looking at the recipe, it seems to me to be a (somewhat corrupted) verson of cream of chicken soup (or it could be fairly easily turned into a version of it).  Take some of it and try adding some shredded sharp cheddar cheese to it (for flavor).  Perhaps, if you like broccoli, cook some chopped broccoli separately in butter with just a little water and add it, along with the shredded sharp cheddar, to make a chicken-broccoli-cheese dish, (which can then be baked until slightly browned to help dry it out if you wish).  I make a chicken-broccoli-cheese dish with noodles or rice somewhat regularly, and I think this mull could be adapted this way, to help you use it up.
