Chili USA - Wed, 11/8/06 9:29 PM ( #1 )
Would you say that chili is exclusively an American dish? Are there ethnic variations? I know my friends in Germany like to make chili but I think they got the recipe when one of them was studying at Univ of Wisconsin. Has anyone had chili outside of US?

Yep, it's a north American thing although folks around the world now make it. There is some debate about the origins and history.

I have a friend in Sweden who makes a recipe I gave him. He makes it for his family on holidays. I hear Tex mex is big in France. Folks all over might like chili. If people everywhere would eat chili it might bring about world peace. Just make sure thers pleanty for everyone!

Don't know where I saw this recipe, on this site somewhere...take your favorite chili, put it on a cookie sheet and put it in the freezer until the chili becomes pliable, not frozen. Shape into balls, dip into corn dog batter and deep fry. Deep Fried Chili Balls...only in America !!!

Neat Dog! Now they have jalapeno corn dog batter. Oh, and green chile corn dogs. Hmmm, green chili or chile balls? They maybe need a neater name? Maybe not?
