annpeeples I simply cannot get Christmas songs out of my head-especially "Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg.." Today's my last work day for the week so I brought in 11 Christmas CDs to help pass the time. Listening to Elvin Bishop's version of "Silent Night" as I type this. Brad

Thanks for that, Scorereader. I am going to slow down and enjoy more. Even the Patsy Cline Cookies I made (they fell to pieces) taste good.

I fell in late July and broke my upper femur and hip bones - I am on the mend (walking now w/a walker) so shopping for Christmas was almost out of the question. I had my grandgirls go online and pick things they wanted. I ordered them and in a few days they were here. This has been a life saver for me. My best ordering experience was Wal-Mart online. If your online order has to be returned you can take it back to a Wal-Mart store for a refund. One item was damaged so I just reordered it and then returned the damaged one to the store. I absolutely avoid malls at Christmas - I haven't been in a mall in several years excpet for JCP once last year. My best Christmas present this year was yesterday when the ortho doctor told me my bones have mended and I can start driving again. Oh what freedom that will be.

Right on, Greymo and Scorereader! My own brother went out to look for some lamps Saturday, and even though there are many dozens of furniture stores in town (never mind internet shopping), he went to the busiest mall around, and was surprised and outraged at all the people there not parting before him like the Red Sea for Moses. I myself was at the Farmers Market earlier this PM, and it was like a tightly packed dance floor with carts - and in the produce section a gal went by singing carols to herself in a way that just made me want to follow her to keep her in earshot. Always nice to get a moment like that.

NYNM Boys, boys, Merry Christmas One and ALL.... And the same to you, sir or madame. And here's to your healthy and prosperous new year! (And actually, I wasn't in the slightest perturbed by anything joerogo or, indeed, anyone else had posted. No, it seems that Mr. rogo was the only one whose dander was up.)
