Cleveland's Ruthie and Moe's Diner closed! Wed, 01/4/06 10:45 PM (permalink)
According to the local news tonight, Ruthie and Moe's Diner in midtown Cleveland has closed for business. Ruthie Hellman(?) couldn't be reached for comment - one of the waitresses was interviewed in the parking lot and said she had no advance warning after working there for 16 years. Ruthie and Moe's has been a Cleveland landmark for years - it caught fire a few years ago and took a year to restore and reopen. It consists of two diner cars joined together by a kitchen - the original car is an art deco masterpiece from 1938, and the addition is a Kullman from the 1960's.

Hopefully someone will come along and reopen it soon.
