Closed: Doug's Soul Food Cafe

I stopped at Doug's Soul Food Cafe (Madison, WI) last Thursday and learned that the restaurant would be closing (financial reasons), and based on the website it looks like it could happen any time between now and May 29. Unfortunately the necessary customer base never materialized.

It was tucked in a location that would have to rely on nearby workers for its clientle and I guess not enough of those wanted soul food. It's food was made to order which probably made it off limits to someone on a tight timetable. I thought the food was very good and Doug and his wife were good people which makes this especially sad news.

Erratic schedule and closed Monday and Sundays ? If this was located near an industrial area, no breakfast ? I'm sure there were good reasons.
