We've archived the reviews of Cafe Atchafalaya in New Orleans, Circle S BBQ and Cimiyotti's in Pendleton, Oregon, and Chiodo's Tavern in Pittsburgh. It seems that all of them are closed, likely for good.

I am almost in tears at the fact that Cimiyooti's AND Circle S both closed over a month ago. My wife has relatives who live in Pilot Rock, Oregon(near Pendleton) and we visit the city 2 to 3 times a yeae. We have always eaten ar Circle S 2 or 3 times a visit and usually manage to squeeze in a least one visit to Cimiyotti's. The loss of these two establishments is a huge blow to roadfooders as they were the best restaurants between Boise and Portland.
Cimiyotti's may be opening under new ownership soon according to a reporter I talked to at the Pendleton East Oregonian newspaper.

I had stopped at Circle S a couple of times while I was living in Seattle and was on the way down to either Boise for BASQUE CUISINE or down to Albuquerque to visit family. It will be missed. Another great place was the Smokehouse Restaurant in LaGrande Oregon. I always used to stop there for breakfast

Mr. Chips, please update this thread if and when you hear any more information about a possible reopening. I'll be passing thru Pendleton in a couple months and would love to know beforehand if Cimiyotti's is back in business.

I see the news of Cimiyooti's and Circle S is out :-( My boyfriend and I recently picked up the new RoadFood book and were excited to try these 2 places on our roadtrip to Eastern Oregon this past weekend. We didn't find this website until after the fact :-( We also heard from the locals that Cimiyooti's would be opening again, but no one knows when.
It doesn't sound like there's hope for Circle S though :-(

Chiodo's in Homestead, PA closed for good on March 25, 2005. RIP to the greatest steelworker bar in the world.

If you fondly remember Chiodo's, you can claim a piece of it for your home as the contents will be auctioned off April 24th.

See www.post-gazette.com/pg/05095/482781.stm for details on the closing and upcoming auction.

Thanks for the memories, Joe! Our family of three generations of steel workers spent many an hour in your fine establishment clearing the dust from our throats!

Boy, the bad news keeps coming for restaurants in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Wright's Seafood Inn, located in Heidelberg, PA has decided to close after 105 years of business. They never could recover from the devastating floods of Sept 2004.

                Read about it at www.post-gazette.com/pg/05096/483272.stm

Rupert's Blue Dog Cafe at the corner of Main and Gervais in Columbia SC has been closed for a week. Anyone know what's going on? I sure hope if they're closing that they will relocate somewhere nearby. They serve my favorite cheeseburgers and raw fries.

Have heard the building may be sold. Anyone got the scoop?

More bad news. Fido's Hot Dog stnad, mentioned both here and in the book by the Sterns, has closed. The owner has disappeared for parts unknown. This is a loss for all of us who like good hot dogs in downtown Portland.
