Cock Robin...

Anybody from the Chicago area remember Cock Robin? I rmemeber the one in Maywood as it was the place we hit on the way home from Kiddyland in the early 60's. I still remember the stek burger and walking thru the line and picking up fries, foilwrapped burger under the infrared all self serve. Thios was before McD's first popped up by the Ovaltine factory in Evanston. britt

The last one I knew of was in Brookfield, near the tracks. It was open until closing for the season last autumn. It never reopened this spring. There is a for sale sign on the door and plenty of folks driving up to see if it's still open.

We were visiting Wheaton (IL)and trying out Muldoons. While looking for parking, we noticed a Cock Robin sign. The glass-style building has been converted into a deli type of place but they kept the original sign. We did a triple take...oh, so close.
