I normally just get what's on sale that week. I prefer Dr Pepper and Coke over Pepsi but Pepsi tastes good for a change. From time to time I'll also get some A&W Cream Soda (With caffeine).

I'm visiting Dallas right now, and I spotted some Dublin Dr Pepper today at Kroger's and well...

I guess I'm just a member of the corn syrup generation. I can really taste the real sugar and after one bottle I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's almost like eating a spoonfull of sugar waiting a min then drinking some Dr Pepper.

I prefer RC. But like 5-10 years ago, RC was god aweful for awhile, I don't know what they did differently. They're ok now.
I can drink the other two, but Pepsi is quite sweet, and Coke is too bubbly. RC is just right. =]
Vanilla Cola - Jones makes my favorite.

But whenever possible, I like the less popular flavors

Red Birch Beer - Boylans
Vanilla Cream and Black Cherry - Hanks
Root Beer - Saranac
Vanilla Cream (west coast) Henry Weinhard's

I don't know how people can buy IBC, Stewarts and Old Brooklyn.

The new Coke and Pepsi with lime are actually products that I will drink, and they are head and shoulders about their predecessors; those lemon-infused drinks with the horrible medicinal aftertaste. Really, in terms of their regular products (and I only consume the diet ones now), Coke would always win over Pepsi, if only because I, like some other posters, really find Pepsi way too sweet. And yes, I took the "blind" taste test in a marketing class in college too, and could pick out the Coke immediately. There really is a difference to my tastebuds.

Hello all. I'm a Pepper. Dr Pepper has been my choice of colas for over 45 years. I have flirted with Pepsi, (a youthful indiscretion),and would get Double Cola in my early years because you got 16 ounces for the price of an 8 ounce soda. Coke is my favorite fountain drink, except at Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut pizza is soooo good with Pepsi. I think they make their pizza sauce to marry with the flavor of Pepsi. When I was a youngster in the 1960's, we had a drink here in the western part of Virginia and also in West Virginia called Kickapoo Joy Juice. It had a cartoon figure of a hillbilly with a jug of moonshine on the bottle. It preceded Mt. Dew, and I believe Mt. Dew is just a copy of it. Take care.

I am retracting a statement I made earlier in this thread. I had forgotten that Pepsi (at the time of the writing) owned other food and drink products and fast food interests. Hypocrite that I am, I was at a Toxic Hell, er Taco Bell and tried the cherry Mountain Dew. It wasn't bad. The only time I will drink Pepsi or Diet Pepsi is when Coke is totally unavailable.

I just finished reading "Blink", a new book that is fairly popular now. It had a section on Coke vs Pepsi. The debate is not so simple. Readers Digest version: Pepsi may be prefered by a majority after 1 sip, but the margin swings in Coke's favor after a full glass. The book explains the New Coke failure. The book is interesting, but not, IMO a real page turner.

There's something wonderful about an 8oz glass bottle of cold coke.

That's my favorite.

Usually I drink Diet Coke, because I can't have much sugar in my diet.
But, I occasionally treat myself to my favorite.

Have just discovered Diet Grapico and it is great. I have to drink diet drinks because I'am a diabetic. I have always loved Grapico and was elated to find it in diet. You can't beat a 6 oz. Coke in a bottle and I have also found Diet Cokes in the 6 oz. bottles. Though I usually drink Diet Pepsi or Diet Mt. Dew.

I swear, they put something addicting in it. When I'm watching carbs, I miss coke more than bread!

I agree Scorereader. Unfortunately, here in California, they are only available at Christmas time for about $3.50 a six pack. They are the only Coke product available in 'glass' bottles - which I love. Coke products are generally only available here in large, plastic bottles, which I don't care for.

I agree about Pizza Hut and Pepsi. It's seems that the Pepi's there are better than anywhere. It's the type of drink that hurts when it goes down it is so strong. I never order anything but Pepsi to drink w/my Pizza Hut pizza.

As far as I'm concerned, Pepsi is evil. I love Coke, Diet Coke, with lime, without lime whatever. I grew up drinking Tab. If I want to eat at Taco Bell or Pizza Hut, I take it home so I don't have to drink Pepsi. If I happen to be at a Pepsi only restaurant, like Crapplebee's I will sometimes get a Mountain Dew, but usually iced tea.

Dr Pepper all the way here! Pepsi is a bit too sweet for me and Coke taste harsh.I do like Green River when I can find it. Haven't had RC in years. One of my earliest memories is drinking a nice cold Dr Pepper in the bottle.

I've been on a Faygo kick as of late: At Lofino's Supermarket in Beavercreek (east of Dayton in Greene County) their 20-ounce bottles have been on sale for less than half of what Walgreen's has been charging!

Lofino's, BTW, is, with all due respect to Alan Jackson, a "little man" grocery. The store is on the Web at http://www.lofinos.com/ .

Diet-Coke. I drink a minimum of 5 a day. Addicted.

I like any soda that has a kick (good root beer) and is highly carbonated.

Dr Pepper or RC for me. I started with RC when it was still known as Royal Crown Cola and its 12 oz size made it the biggest bottle in the cooler. I think Dr Pepper has the flavor advantage over the competition and I will always choose it over Coke and Pepsi.

I find Goya Jamaican Ginger Beer quite enjoyable as well. Gotta love that hot red pepper they spike it with, although I have heard people that dislike hot pepper call it the "ginger ale from hell."

I average eight 12 oz. servings per day.
I'm trying to cut back to 6 this week.
and one per week until I'm down to two.

I just don't want to be addicted anymore.

Does anyone know of a place in AMERICA where you can purchase Coke or Dr. Pepper using cane sugar only? I know you can order it from Mexico and overseas but would prefer to do inside the borders with the thoughts it might actually make it here without breaking or costing $5.00 a bottle.

You should be able to find Coke with cane sugar imported from Mexico in a Mexican grocer. Most big cities or areas with a large Hispanic population have a Mexican grocer. If you get lucky you can find one that also has Pepsi imported from Mexico
Dr Pepper with cane sugar can be purchased in Texas, Waco and Dublin are your best bets. Also West Jefferson Dr Pepper in West Jefferson North Carolina bottles Dr Pepper with cane sugar in 12 oz longneck bottles. You can do a web search for their phone number and ask what their distribution area is, I know from searching the Dr Pepper is only found around West Jefferson and certain other areas of TN, NC and I think TN. They also bottle RC made with cane sugar in the longneck bottle. This is very easy to find in western North Carolina. You can also purchase any of thier products at the WJDP plant.
Also go www.drpep.com to purchase cans or 8oz bottles.

I prefer diet pepsi or caffiene free diet pepsi. I also like Diet Rite and their tangerine and white grape flavors. For those that love coke but hate diet coke, I think the new Coke Zero tastes almost exactly like the regular coke, a LOT better than diet coke. I can't hardly stand diet coke but I like the coke zero

i also forgot to mention i like Sprite and 7UP.
I also have an old book from Coca-Cola by Ida Bailey Allen from the 1930s.She was a cooking expert and they approached her about writing a book about entertaining and using cocke products. It has some recipes and menu suggestions as well as party ideas.i made some jello with coke and lemon jello, which didn't taste too bad actually.

Only soda I will BUY is Caffeine Free Diet Coke (gold can)

Now when I use to drink non-diet soda it was Pepsi all the way
Reg.Coke being too sweet and not carbonated enough

I will drink just about anything if it is my only choice
But when I hear Diet Pepsi etc is my only choice I :(

Now some comments on the other posts .. I have been to the SubsNSuch in Tampa .. went in search of Cheerwine and Moxie .. had 3 sodas while eating a Cuban sandwich..... I see ppl mentioning Niles Dowagiac and Kalamazoo I was born in the area .. Not a fan of ice in my pop ... but if it is crushed ice it works ..

For the ppl that like high carbonation if you go to EPCOT the Coke exhibit has Coke products from around the world and the watermelon soda from China is sooo fizzy and yummy you will wish we sold it

Cherry Vanilla Diet Dr Pepper ... way yummy
Diet Coke w/Lime ... quite nice occasionally
Coke/Pepsi w/Lemon ... tastes like Lemon Pledge
Moxie .. tastes as I would imagine turpentine to taste
Cheerwine .. not my choice
Faygo .. grew up on Red Pop :)Love their Root Beer
RC .. with peanuts and think of childhood
Caffeine Free Mt.Dew .. in the few places that sell it quite nice
Root Beer .. A&W Hires Faygo IBC Mugg Publix anything but Barq's
Jones Soda .. yuck
Flavored Mt.Dew .. even yuckier
