Cold Meatloaf Sandwiches

Hi my roadfood friends. Let's hear what you like on your left over meatloaf sandwiches or even what you put in your meatloaf. I like my meatloaf with bacon and ketchup on top when baking. For left over cold sandwiches I like mayo or miracle whip.

I always eat left over meatloaf cold in many different ways. Red sauce and mozzarella on a roll heated, garlic mayo on white bread, with bacon and Buddy Roadhouse BBQ sauce on a roll or french bread, or open faced with brown gravy and mashed potatoes on white.

Good white bread, mayo, ketchup and cold meatloaf sliced as thinly as possible with out crumbling, please and thank you!

Funny, just finished one. Meatloaf cold, good hearty white bread, Hellman's Mayo, Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. It was super satisfying! Yum.

As I was making this meatloaf yesterday, I was wondering if I could have added a sauce, but since I was using bacon (which I loved btw)and wanted it to get crispy, do you do sauce then bacon?? Please help, thanks, Tedi

Mayonnaise and Swiss cheese.

Think to grill it at breakfast.

I put the raw bacon over the top and sometimes bottom of meatloaf and cover it with ketchup then bake it.

I usually never have any. On that rare occasion, I'll take a slice or two and cover with some over-medium fried eggs. Hot salsa, melted sharp cheddar, and sliced pickled serranos' are a must have! The mashed 'taters NEVER make it to the next day!

Michael - If you like garlic, try a little garlic mayo with the Swiss...one of my favorites.

Just white bread and ketchup. Nothing fancy. I never add bacon to my meatloaf. Just makes it greasy to me.

Usually just meatloaf on white bread with minimal amount of mustard, Texas Pete, dill chip pickles and raw onion.

White bread,cold meat loaf,a little catsup and a layer of cole slaw...That's a good sandwich !

A dash of Tabasco, sliced beets on white toast. Try it, it's yummy!

Bringing an extra Mama's meatloaf sandwich to school was about the best trade goods I ever had.
I could get a Thursday chili and a Friday fish plus soda for one (the small one).

Ketchup and a slice of onion on mine please. It's one of the few thing I'll still eat on that white bread like substance.

Nothing says comfort food more than a nice meatloaf cooking in the oven, and filling the house with family oriented aromas. Sure brings back memories for me, when my girls were home, and hubby, alive.

Anyway, every so often, like end of last week, I put a nice loaf in. It sure tasted great, though I complained, I believe on another thread, that I make it too moist.

I was going to freeze the slices, individually wrapped in plastic wrap, and placed in zip lock bags. However, I have slowly eaten them, and that says a lot, because I am a small eater.

I like mine with mayo, catsup, raw onion, lettuce, tomato, and a dash of horseradish, on my local market 8 grain bread.

This sandwich, is a died and gone to heaven, type of culinary delight, IMO.

One of my absolute favorite sammies. I will sometimes make a meatloaf just to have leftovers.

For me - thinly sliced stacked on white bread with Dukes mayo, romaine, s & p. In summer only, I'll add sliced tomato from the garden.

I've got an extra made up meatloaf in the freezer, guess what's for dinner tonight and LUNCH TOMORROW.

Just, (Hunt's) ketchup. Needs nothing else because all the seasonings and
add-ons are already in the meatloaf.

White bread, a little butter on each slice of bread and a good amount of Hunt's ketchup.

I know the thread was for 'cold' meatloaf sandwiches, but I like to warm a few slices in the leftover gravy and make a hot meatloaf sandwich. Two slices of white bread meatloaf in between, some leftover mashed taters on the side all smothered in the left over gravy.......

For me meatloaf sandwich is one of those basic comfort food items that shouldn't be messed with. And it's one of the few childhood food memories my Wife and I share in complete agreement.

White bread and ketchup. As a nod to healthy eating we might put a piece of lettuce on it.

That's about the only time you'll find white bread in our house.

My cold meatloaf could come off as a pate, its so good cold.

I like it with LOTS of ketchup cold, or give me a good salsa. No bread needed.

Hi Morninglory....what do you put in your meatloaf...ground beef or veal?

white bread and ketchup or fully dressed on a hard roll and everything inbetween.. Ive also been known to make a meatloaf JUST for sandwichs

I like mine on crusty sour dough a little mayo or ranch and a slab of baby swiss.

Mostly, I used ground round or chuck, and sometimes add about 1/3 ground pork. I add too many veggies, and moisture, but it always tastes good.

My nod goes to douginvirginia. I want one of those...right here...right now!

Just Heinz for me, but sometimes i'll opt for horseradish instead.
