    Bill Voss-
I would be quite happy to see the Jayhawks win it all.  It does look like this will be a rebuilding year for my Pitt Panthers, but maybe they will surprise me.

I must admit that was extremely impressive. My only problem with college basketball...there's TOO MUCH!

The three major universities in this area---Indiana University, University of Louisville, and University of Kentucky, all seem to be poised for good years. Lots of talent and long traditions to fall back on.  We'll see. Of the three I think Louisville will be on top at the end, Rick Pitino is a legend as a College Hoops Coach !

The University of Minnesota has been decimated with assaulters, crooks and shoplifters being suspended. Three potential starters in all but they still seem to have enough talent to have a good season and get into the NCAA tournament. Doncha love college basketball.

Don't write off any of the ACC teams.
I am personally upset because the company that publishes ACC Handbook decided not to do it this year. I'm having to scrounge for information.

Saw this on another site.  Don't know if you've seen it or not, or if it's even remotely helpful, but thought I'd post the link anyway.

George Mason knocked off Indiana in a neutral site. I'd say Indiana is going to have some trouble this year.

I love my Mason Patriots (I have a master's from Mason), but a CAA team should not be at that level yet. It's one thing for a school to overlook a team in exhibition (i.e. Syracuse v. Le Moyne), but not acceptible in tournament play.

Louisville does look beastly good, though.

We can write off North Carolina.

Syracuse is expected to be #5,6,0r 7 in the Big East. They wholloped NC in the Garden.

Mayor Al, got to disagree with you a bit here.  If they don't have any major injuries, UK will be the top team of these three.  Right now, it looks like they will have three strong lottery picks in the NBA, and two of them are freshmen.  Once this team learns what the coach wants, they're going to be pretty tough.

Gonzaga exposed Maryland as yet another overrated ACC team.

Seems like a wide open tournament.   I expect a lot of upsets.  I don't know how Duke got the #3 seed, the easiest bracket, and the play-in game to boot.  Kansas is the most solid team.

I love the NCAA Tourniment. What an evening.  Murrey State did a great job upsetting Vandy! WF just knocked off Texas...and the list goes on ! Tennessee had its hands full with San Diego State..

Janet has gone to Washington to see her son for the weekend..so it is me with a load of Costco goodies and the Big Screen TV, the newly trimmed dogs and our first 70 degree day tomorrow.  So many playthings, so little time. Think I will take a nap to dream about it a bit.

Al, is it safe to assume that you and the dogs will be rooting heavily for Wofford today?

Georgetown turned in some of the suckiest suckage that ever sucked...why I picked them as an Elite 8 team is beyond me.  Perhaps it's JT3's resemblance to a young Broderick Crawford that swayed my senses.  Sure, every once in a while a #14 beats a #3 but that was a beatdown!

I lost Marquette as a Sweet 16 team, too.  Nice job throwing away a 15-point second-half lead!

Does anybody ever get into an NIT pool?

                                          Brad,
Although the Wofford name is very close to my "Wolfus, The Wonder Dog" the namesake for my current Scotties, I have a daughter in Baraboo who promises me that the Badgers will not surrender today !!!

I thought Northern Iowa was a "wrestling" powerhouse, not a BBall hotspot.  Also, In our family bracket pool (18 members, all of them our kids or in-laws) I am the only one who thinks Louisville's bipolar team is coming into tonights game with it's 'gonna lose' team...Not the "relive the Championship" Team. So I pick California to Beat Pitino's crew. If that happens I will be left in a dark nursing home shortly by 'Very Biased' Kids !!

Last nights jumping between games in the final minutes of both games (Tennessee and Texas games) was sort of confusing...but I thought about it after...what a pair of very exciting finishes in those two games. While Kentucky did what a Number One Seed had to do, the upset games are sure a lot more fun to watch !

I am the only one who thinks Louisville's bipolar team is coming into tonights game with it's 'gonna lose' team...Not the "relive the Championship" Team. So I pick California to Beat Pitino's crew. If that happens I will be left in a dark nursing home shortly by 'Very Biased' Kids !!

And when I die I'm going straight to hell ......I picked  Louisville to beat California  ... oooohhh the agony of defeat .....  I"ll probably  be asked to leave the state ...well the Bay area for sure

Zydeco, They are young and at times kinda immature at the microphones, but Damn can they play good BBall (most of the itme). If they can resist the jump to the Pro's for the college years they will be outstanding over the next three seasons!

Sizz,  You were wrong, and that is good for my Bracket points, but my kids are sending nasty emails already !!!

Who's the recipient of the nasty emails...you or Rick Pitino?

Louisville is 1 of my 10 first-round losses so I'm looking at another down year; I finished dead last for the first time last year.  I thought about it and I think it's because I don't watch as many games as I used to because so much basketball is shown on cable or satellite TV and I have neither.  It wasn't that long ago that CBS and ABC both broadcast a lot of games on Saturdays and Sundays and it was possible to see and learn about many different teams, but that's not the case anymore.

And I'm sure my annual plea for CBS to give the national championship game to Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery will once again fall on deaf ears...

                                                    Brad,
I am a firm believer that skill has very little to do with a set of winning Brackets. A number years ago...early 90's we had a pool going at the school where I worked. I know for a fact that the Mens P E Teachers met at least twice after school to analyze the available data before making individual picks.  Most of us used what ever knowledge, gut feelings, and wild-ass-guesses we had to do our entries.  We had what I would nicely call a genuine blonde airhead receptionist in the office who bragged on how cute the Michigan boys (Fab Five, I think) looked in their baggie-blue and gold.

Needless to say she won the pool, and the Coaches, as a group, had a firm grip on the last 5 places in the pool !!!

I love these days, even if I get eyesore about mid-way thru the third game of the day.  Thank Heavens for Hi-Def TV. It really makes a difference !

I have received three emails from some of my kids reminding me that 'voting' against Louisville could put future grandkid visits in jeopardy. I don't think that would be a bad thing (for awhile) !!

I am not now, nor have I been a fan of the KU Jayhawks. I picked them to get beat by UK- Kentucky in the final game. AND they just laid down and let Northern Iowa have their way with them. Sheesch, why bother rating these teams ??????

Now that Kansas has been knocked off I feel better about Ohio State's chances.
