Coming to a Town Near You- Sausage Restaurants

Seems like I'm hearing more & more about Speciality Sausage Restaurants opening up with non-traditional sausages on the menus like Wild Boar, Rabbit, Rattlesnake, Salmon, Vegan, Organic etc, etc. in addition to the standards like Brats & Italian, Polish etc. they're generally including Craft Beers in with them. We have several in the Phoenix area including one opening in June. Brat Haus in Scottsdale, AZ. http://www.brathausaz.com/ This might be the next hot food trend in B&M's and Food Trucks Tell us about any opening in your area and what they're all about.

No paricular specialty restaurant, but in SE Mass and a few other choice locations around the US that have a Portuguese population, find a place offering a Linguica sandwich.....toppings optional but by far one of the tastiest sausages there is. Garlicky, not spicy. (some places may even have the spicier Chourico that is NOT the cousin to Chorizo.and a fiery treat it is!)

I'd like to see a Brathaus ( http://www.brathausaz.com/ ) come to the Big D! Their Belgian Fries make my mouth water from 1,200 miles away. Though, I am a little disappointed that they do not offer Sauce Bernaise as one of their "dips".

I'd love to have one around here. Come to think of it, perhaps we should visit my daughter in Scottsdale.

I agree Michael, I would love one here in Austin. You get tired of the Elgin hot sausage the medeocre Earl Campbell and Southside markets rather bland fare. What happened to all the "good" sausage made by the German and Chezk butchers. Oh I know, the were bought out by the large chains and now all you get is what HEB wants to sell you. Used to get mail order kielbasi from the Polish sausage company in Detroit but that got real expensive.

The Brathaus is in the building that housed the Original Oregano's Pizza in Oldtown Scottsdale. Oregano's Pizza moved up the street to larger facilities.

Here's a place in New Braunfels that has German covered: http://www.nbsmokehouse.com/Item/Browse?cat=s25 When all else fails, you can always make your own! Here's where you can get everything you need to set up shop: http://www.sausagemaker.com/

Foodbme, if we ever do get back there it sure won't be when the temperature in the daughter's back yard hovers around 114.

Don't you believe the Chamber of Commerce line---"Yea, but it's a dry heat!" "C'mon out and bring money!" We're now in the Monsoon Season. Dust Storms, Thunderstorms & Downbursts, Flash Flooding and High Humidity. The C of C spin on it is "We Needed the Rain"!

I spoke with my daughter last night. Yes, the rain is nice. But it's still so hot the water in her pool keeps the family out.
