Ok....Everything costs wayyyyyyy to much. There are surcharges on the surcharges. Outrageous minimum orders, and they want you to pay for your order even before youve thought about ordering it. Oh yeah, and no matter how much you buy, they dont give a crap about you anyway. My rant is done, Thank You. dw

Thought about this for a bit lately, could be a boon for hot dog carts/vendors. Cheap eats for lunch! Business has been up a bit at the cart lately, wondering if the economy has anything to do with it. 5.00 for 2 dogs, chips and a coke, beats the hell out of a sub, chips and a coke for 10-12 bucks doesnt it?

Well, for the long term, it will not get any easier. I don't want to quote anyone or make this a political matter, but this is something we'll be living with for awhile. Best we can do is adjust and make the best of it. About all I can say is adjust your prices.. Everyone else has, and people are getting used to it (Sadly).

Well, at least you can take comfort in knowing you've got lots of company in the same boat. Uncle Vic is right, adjust your prices so that you keep your cost vs profit percentages about the same.

Delta (and who ever else wants to read) My biz. has dropped off in the past couple of weeks. And i have no doubt i am giving good food for a good price. 3 dogs for 4.00 (relish, kraut or cooked onions) or 2 dogs any one topping and can of soda 4.00. Not bad. But i think unless you have a big customer base you just will have really crappy days (as i have said about being down) I don't think people eat dogs everyday and i think you need a big base of customers (regulars) to keep the ball rolling. I also think some folks are bringing lunch to work a couple of days a week, whatever pt. is, biz is down and i think alot (most) people will feel the pinch in one form or another. And i am shopping my tush off to keep cost down. Good luck to all.

not sure about that price... my sub and side is 5.95. weekly special includes a drink at same price. still 5 bucks for two dogs chips and soda is good. it takes more than price to keep them repeating. give them a show, too. lol

Reading deeper into your complaint, I too have issues with minimum orders for smaller kitchens. This forces many people to convert to what I call, the 'Costcoization' of restaurant food and quality. I avoid places where I know that the owners buy their stuff from there. Food now is really starting to taste the same. mark
