Cooking a brisket on a chicken bbq pit?

I would try this at home except that we're in the middle of winter here in Ohio. Has anyone tried a brisket on an open chicken bbq pit? My pit is approximately 2 ft. from the charcoal. It takes about 2 hours to cook a small half chicken depending on how hot the coals are. Thanks.

But I can't imagine trying to do a brisket on an open grill.

What's a chicken pit barbecue? I sell barbecues and no one has ever called or asked for one by that name. I'd love a picture!

Most of the one's I've seen are made by stacking concrete blocks to form a large pit. They have large metal grates on top to put the chickens on. They are used to cook several half chickens at once.
