I'm nuts about corn nuts.....just got some on my last trip to New Mexico - a flavor called "Jalisco Salsa" (not from Mexico but made in USA). I don't see conr nuts in NYC where I live...are these just a Southwest thing?

They were big-time bar snacks at many of the places we used to attend in the High Desert of SoCal. Here in the Louisville area, some of the 'blue-collar' Bars have bowls/buckets of in-shell peanuts instead. Both work well for me.

I live in MI and I can buy Corn Nuts at just about any party store and gas station around. I love Corn Nuts, especially the BBQ or even the Regular flavor. The Regular flavor reminds me of Fritos except they are crunchier.

Dearfolk, I've seen them quite regularly here in Georgia. They have too much crunch for my aging teeth, however, so I can no longer eat them without significant attendant pain. Under The Gum, Ort. Carlton in Athens, The Athens Of Georgia.

I love them but just don't love the dentist,so they're a food on my "long gone" list of stuff.

Corn Nuts are readily available here in Milwaukee. Less common, but found in most nut shops, are corn parchies. Crunchy but not real hard they appear to a deep fried cousin to popcorn's old maid kernels. I have no idea exactly what they are or how they are made.

Yeah, their a southwest thing, they come in just below cactus chewing,as most peoples favorite, although I understand that's quite popular in N.Y.C.It's called Nueve Ouche!

Here in central California, they are all over the place, in regular flavors as well as latino flavors such as chile and lime or salsa. The guy who sits in front of me at work is hooked on them... I don't eat them much, but they sure do smell yummy!

I love em, especially the BBQ variety. But my old choppers don't, and the last time I inflicted some expensive damage therein was the last time corn nuts were therein.

Our biggest nut shop, Buddy Squirrel, doesn't list corn parchies among their shippable nuts. A Google search under parched corn, turned up many home made recipes and one business popped up under parched corn on www.amazon.com who were selling it for 8 oz. for $1.59!
