Costco Bagels

In my opinion, the best I've ever eaten, especially the "Everything" variety. Truth be told, I've never had a Bagel in Manhatten, Long Island, yes, didn't hold a candel to Costco's. Thomas's a joke in comparison. What think ye?

No honest opinion. While growing up, bagels were never seen in my little home town in Texas. Didn't actually eat one until I moved out here to CA. I've had some from Ralph's and Trader Joe's but as for the best, I haven't a clue.

Costco bagels here are/were (?) made by a local bagel maker... Western Bagel. They are a bit soft and a bit gummy for me. However, put one in front of me and if it's not filled with raisins or blueberries I'll eat it.

If it's not a water bagel it's not a bagel, it's a round piece of bread.

OK. It's a round piece of bread with a hole in the middle.

Ok, I grew up in Brooklyn, and worked for 39 years in Manhattan until I retired last year. In other words I've had a bagel or two. Much as I like Costco products in general, the bagels are not even close to what even a below-average bagel is like in NY. Thumbs down. Sorry.

For anyone living in a bagel-poor environment (as I now do), I suggest you see if Ray's New York Bagels are sold in your area. Not the best bagel I've ever had, but far above anything else I can get locally. Their website has a "locator" feature. http://www.raysnewyorkbagels.com/

I don't think that costco bagels can beat any bagel thats sold in a cafe or breakfast restaurant like Einsteins, but it wins first place for store bought bagels! And you guys are right, they are a bit gummy..thats why ya toast them!

All of you, come now...Costco bagels are a joke around here. As stated above they are not REALLY bagels. A Bagel must be boiled first. This is mushy round bread with a whole, some nice toppings, yes,....but NOT a true bagel. We are lucky to have many mom & pop bagel places in our town....but even our local super markets have better bagels than Costco. That having been said, I love most of their bakery items...but bagels are not one of them!!!!

Wegman's Bagels are a million times better. Costco's bagels are like Thomas' - just round bread - better quality than Thomas, but the same ilk.

Cosco's bagels are no where near a real bagel. I imagine that they would be pleasing to many people who have not had the real thing.........................I bought them once. I thought they were dreadful but the grandchildren ate everyone of them!
